People who don't play pool are blown away by behind the back shots. The shot mechanics are almost exactly the same. You're still doing an elbow pendulum, you just feel a little stretch in the shoulder as well.
@joshfrey6315
8 ай бұрын
Aiming the shot is the hard part that's why he does it here because he still can put a good stroke playing behind the back and the shot is straight in so he doesn't have to worry about aim
@stephenmcneil4573
8 ай бұрын
I mean, the mechanics are the same, but I play and practice several hours per week, and wouldn’t feel comfortable on this shot. It’s as foreign to me as trying to shoot left handed. I actually see loads of new players try this, and find actual success potting, likely because their aim isn’t hugely better when actually down on the shot.
@kchiang4

The amazing thing about that shot was getting position on the 3 with that backshot...but i guess you don't see it
@olivercollier6518
7 ай бұрын
In simple terms yes, but because of that stretch it is VERY difficult to cue straight. Aiming is also tough because you can’t get low and parallel to the cue so you’re looking down. They’re very easy if you’re just playing a short gentle shot but not this kind of deep screw

Its incredibly easy to do. Notice how the idiot swings the q around his back like a bellend to aquire the position. You can just bring the q to your left hand and grab the end of the q with your right. There is absolutely no point bringing it around your back, it takes longer, and makes you look like you're trying to show off.

ITS CRAZY HOW U NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY WITH UR OFF HAND LOOKS LIKE THEYRE A PRO but real pros play with their off hand (I’m not saying Alvin isn’t a pro or any other pro pool player that plays behind the back isn’t a pro bc honestly they could probably beat me playing behind the back but what I will say is if you actually put it in the work to play with your off hand you’ll be more consistent with ur off hand than playing behind the back and playing behind the back in my perspective makes u look like u don’t know what ur doing or you’re trying to show off yes I USED to play a few shots behind the back but now I have been able to play 1 handed I hood the cue with my dominant hand “ cup it kind of” in the pit of my elbow and with my hand I hood it but also extend my Pinter finger for more leverage and control over the cue the only thing I cannot do playing one handed is masse and very long draw shots I can follow stop shot a light to medium draw shot and left and right spin and usually that’s all I need you shouldn’t need a power draw shot or force follow shot every shot but in some situations you do need them but also I’ve rarely been in a situation where I had to play 1 handed because of how far away or where the cueball was on the table and had to play a force follow or power draw bc I just do the best position I can to make the ball because ik in that situation if I try to get perfect on the next ball my chances to make the ball go down because I’m playing a 1 handed shot and trying to do a lot with the cue ball so I just take the best route for the cue ball that I CAN CONTROL in the situation and just work with the long / off angle shot the main thing I look for when playing position on a 1 handed shot is to 1 try to get the cue ball to where I don’t have to play 1 handed on the next shot and 2 don’t hook myself so I have to kick or bank or masse or something and 3 just get the best position I can I don’t need perfect I just need to be able to reach the cue ball and see the the part of the object ball that I need to hit to make the ball that is it I don’t need perfect position even tho it would be nice but ik I’m not as consistent 1 handed and I can’t do 1 handed shots as good as my regular stroke / shot
