Nanadan Nilekani:- This Guy contested in MP election from Bangalore South ( one of the most educated, soft power of bharathiata, decent people's constituency of the India) Congress party against Young Energetic Guy Tejasvi Surya of BJP & he lost it...! 1) GST has very worst software by him even today it's has many problems. IGST refund was major crisis in GST so BJP lost many seats in Gujarat, one of the largest manufacturer- export hum, even from Tamilnadu also. Now somehow it's partially solved.! 2) Aadhaar:- most eagerly awaited biometric system but still it's not been utilised except 'identify' that too have lot of drawback one person getting 2 Aadhaar card..! So its a failure of Biometric..! All Infosys founders are minted money & politicans blessings..! Congress was a pioneer in capturing these business men...

Excellent points by NandanNilekani👍 especially,about the Livability of Urban environment in Indian Cities. Urban Housing Planning, incorporating Natural Landscape within the Residential and Commercial spaces and best practices in Waste Recycling and Sustainable Energy policies. India does hv a long way to go in this. This is important to attract Youngsters to want to live and settle in Indian cities, rather than go abroad and not returning.

Great Interview. Mr. Nilekani has added so much value to India, with his leadership of Adhaar, UPI, ONDC. Almost every citizen has/will be positively impacted by the work he and his team has been doing. I am not even considering the value Infosys has brought to India. So very true that the reason cities lack infrastructure is because local municipalities are inefficient and working independent of state and central government. For a common tax paying citizen what matters is having a road in front his house, clean water supply and electricity and unfortunately we still struggle to have those basic facilities.

My takeaways : 1) The growth in next 20-25 years in India would be more equitable as the wealth will not come from natural resources or commodities but because of people and as more and more people will become skilled, the economy will grow even more. The theme would be the transfer from informal sector to formal sectors.

India should never absorb itself to a formal economic model. It is the Informal economy which is so innovative & entrepreneur oriented and generates good, robust employment at ground 0 that matter.. One basic formula that we must remember is.. Unless we consume our own Digital tech, expecting others ( exports ) to open up their purses is an unsustainable way..
@person1858
2 жыл бұрын
That is silly. You need exports. Every single economy needs to do exports. No country can ever be self sufficient. No country is self sufficient. Self sufficiency is completely impossible. For any country. It will never ever happen. The informal sector is horrible. It is disorganised and unable to do anything at large scale. Those innovative people would still be innovative if they worked at a large corporation. Don't emotionally say that the informal sector is good. Where is the data? The data is clear that almost all of India's economic growth comes from formal sector companies exporting goods and services to foreign countries. What has the informal sector done? Provide employment? Formal corporations can do that too.

Undoubtedly Nandan is a great asset to the country. And luckily for us the govt sagely valued him and used his services despite his standing for election from a party which is its bête noire. The refreshing change here is the interviewer. Articulate, fast talking, very good questions, ( contrast with the dumb repetitive questions one lady asked FM Jaishankar arrogantly and permanently entered history books for bringing disrepute to an interviewer’s profession). She is a breath of fresh air for sure.
@mpadiki

The interviewing skills of even mainstream media is so abysmal... She is just trying to cover a long list of predefined questions... When you get time from a man like him, dig deeper... Have a dialogue... Get perspectives... Not jump from one unrelated to question to another... The fact that the interview was still brilliant only talks about the gravitas of the the man.

one thing is certain. India remained marketing it exported agriculture products and imported largely finished products. that has to be broken and time consuming. To break it illiteracy we should clear 100 ‰ Govt should offer education free to all at any cost. compulsary education at any age cast etc. Tamilnadu did it more than any other States in India. Indian federation should go and form several centuries like Europian. Many States would have formulated policies best'to them and dreamt developed rather than Super Powers that ideology is stupidity.
