Man I keep seeing memes about India all the time over the Internet, about our cows, poverty, slums and all that. It’s what the media portrays feel me, we’re so much more than just that; and you’ve really really put us out there to see, I’m so so thankful Dakota. India isn’t just a third-world country, it’s a whole different cultural and spiritual experience. You don’t visit India, you experience it, the way we live, eat, breathe, pray. I hope someday y’all understand and view India differently than y’all do today, with that being said, peace and love to all y’all, Ram ram.

Hampi is actually an anglicization of the Kannada word Hampe which comes from Pampa or Pampadevi referring to the Goddess of the river. Virupaksha and Pampa devi are ruling deities of Hampe and this has been an important pilgrimage spot for 1000s of years. There are many temples in this area built by Kings from Kakatiya to Vijayanagara and later local rulers. I really hope tourists stop thinking this is some place to come and get high.
