this bike is pure sexyness! I love how all the Indians sat really low. I wish I could afford an old Indian like this...

What a bike, it's awesome youtube and the contributors let us see these wonderful relics and experience them a bit. I've had the privilege of riding a 1917 Indian, a 1921 Triumph H (see pic), the Nash Quad behind me (in pic), a model T's, and I never have owned any, I just volunteered at a museum on weekends and worked my butt off...and guys much younger than me have gotten to experience the same thing at a much earlier age in the same manner. These old relics deserve great care and respect.

The story I hear was that Indian sold a lot of bikes for use by cops. The left hand throttle meant a cop could (in theory) draw his side-arm and fire it if he had to when riding. The right grip is supposed to be the ignition advance. Maybe i'd want a better front brake. I am not sure one would be any good on English roads of today.

Not made for speed? Racing is what made Indian. Id rather go 170 on my R1 than 80 on this Scout.
