Also Indian philosophy goes much deeper than just this. India has a deep history of the philosophy of language, including Panini (morphological derivation), Bhartihari (liars paradox, very unique Sphota concept), Jaimini, Katyayana (both talk about relation of how language is formed in our brain before we utter, it relationship of words with real world phenomena the word is referring too, etc - Wittgenstein's precursor in field), Sangam Period philosophy literature (Tolkappiyam, Tirrukural - both amazing books on grammar, ethics, epistemology, etc). Not to mention how deep each of the philosophies you mentioned go. For example Buddhism has Yogachara (first delve into consciousness unparalleled to any ancient tradition) & Nagarjuna's Madhamika.

My curriculum as a Post Graduate student in Philosophy has a mixed blend of Eastern (Indian subcontinent) and Western (Ancient Greek, British, German and American) philosophies. The current lot of academicians are hell bend on making comparative studies. The comparison is mostly between Indian schools of philosophy and Western philosophers. In India, importance has always been given to schools of philosophy unlike the western world where a philosophical idea is almost entirely the brainchild of a particular philosopher. Hence the fascination with western influence like most of us have today with the influencers of culture, ideology, choices, habits, profession and more. I think it's easier to connet to a person with an ideology than the ideology itself. I might be wrong though. However, I am writing this because in my 1st semester I have 3 papers from Indian Philosophy and 1 each from Western Logic and Western Philosophy out of total 5 papers. So there is ample content I am studying from Indian Philosophy at this point. This ratio will balance itself in subsequent semesters, I am sure. Gandhiji himself borrowed his philosophical beliefs from both the Eastern and Western world. His ideologies of Human freedom and Civil disobedience were borrowed from philosophy of 'The Bhagwat Gita' and the american philosopher and naturalist 'Henry David Thoreau'. Food for thought-Sanskrit should be taught sacrosanctly and studied vehemently to arouse interest in Indian philosophy. It should be mandated compulsarily into our education irrespective of the boards and as early as in the primary classes.

There's also the Bhagavad philosophy which comes from the Bhagavad Gita and Lord Krishna's teaching here is that the body is mortal but the soul is immortal. We can only attain Moksha (release) by freedom from the wheel of rebirth through good karmas. Vedant is based on Prasthana Trayam - Shruti (Vedas), Smriti (Puranas, Itihas, Agamas, Dharma Shastras etc) & Nyaya (Bramha Sutra/Vedant Sutra). There are Multiple school of thoughts within Vedant. Like Kevaladvait (Sripad Adi Shankaracharya), Shudh Advaitvaad (Sripad Vishnuswami and Sripad Vallabhacharya), Dvaitvaad (Sripada Madhvacharya), Vishishthadvait (Sripad Ramanujaacharya), Dvaitadvait (Sripad Nimbarkacharya), Achintya Bhed abhed (Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu/Srila Jiva Goswami). These are the principal school of thoughts of Vedant. Among these 5 School of thoughts of Vedant the 4 of Madhvacharya, Ramanujaacharya, Vishnuswami and Vallabhacharya, Nimbarkacharya and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Srila Jiva Goswami are Vaishnav Sampradayas and Adi Shankaracharya is Smarta Tradition. There are Simultaneously Shaiva School of thoughts like Veer Shaiva, Kashmiri Shaiva etc

Varna system existed in india much before and we should acknowledge that and move on instead of putting blame on British or Mughals. I can give references to scriptures which talk so much shit about lower varnas and avaranas and there are people who really support that even today. So yes the Dalits we call today are nothing but avaranas and they were treated worse than animals. So it's true and even exists today in rural parts.

@@manansharma6348 geeta upholds varna vyavstha but one real debate from centuries is whether it is birth based or credit based. Orthodox hindus are hell bent for birth based and some support credit based.

@@samarthbarshi1916 Varna vaystha is by default karmic or ability-based. There are ample proofs in the scriptures itself which proves that the varna system was fluid in past. The caste system is a recent phenomenon and no one is denying the atrocities but I believe it is being exaggerated like sati.

India should immediately change their teaching subjects and curriculum , so that with our ancient Indian knowledge we can go ahead and search for unknown mysteries in the world . In this way , we will preserve our culture as well and who knows if there is something hidden in our scriptures which can help this mankind .

Jiddu Krishnamurti is a product of western experiments with Indian thought. He was groomed by the Theosophical Society created by Helena Blavatsky and gang. Though on the surface this seems like Indomania, in reality it is one of many colonial era ventures to appropriate and subvert Indic thought and knowledge traditions to feed western philosophy and what is now termed 'western mysticism'. Jiddu Krishnamurti was simply a pawn in the game - a useful idiot. This is a rabbit-hole that goes deep. Not everyone would like what they find.

@@thedescanteer I didn't think someone will go this deep. So his teachings are wrong. What are you trying to convey?
@thedescanteer
3 жыл бұрын
@@pranamjshetty9658 His teachings are immaterial. He didn't preach anything new or anything that he came up with on his own. He is just an ideologue handpicked as 'the chosen one' when he was a child and then trained and propped up by Theosophy leaders to gain influence for their institution/school of thought. Ultimately they were in the business of appropriating (read stealing) and repackaging mined knowledge from ancient Indian schools/paramparas and claim it as their own a generation or two down the line, while at the same time arsoning the Indian source. There is a laundry list of such examples in the last 150 years.

This will result in people penetrating in these philosophies more and one can specialize in it by various means available. Book or articles can help in this process.

Am from Advaita Vedanta's Patanjali's Ashtang yog/kriya yoga school of life. And most of this schools are very much alive and people who are in the path of Self Realisation and samadhi chooses this paths. There is beginner disciple soul as well very advance disciple souls who have or r to achieve Samadhi, highly advanced spirits whi have realised their spirit. Thus schools aren't for everyone. Only serious spiritual seekers or who wants to get into it seriously, so that in this very life or in all the next lives they attain liberation. Do you really think more than majority are even gonna be interested in all this, Yama and Niyama aren't very easy things to follow and from 15 mins to 8 hrs to days sitting in meditation and giving up inner attachment even when remaining involved yet detached ll be easy for majority of the public, living a very simple life personally, always living, eating and breathing the teachings and practicing and making it your life, your each and every atom should vibrate them and becoming one with them and so much more. Thus they are the highest of all teachings. Gyana yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Karma Yoga, all schools are based upon them, some may stress in one or the other aspect more, but majority practices four of them which prepares the person completely and might in the life itself lead to enlightenment and Samadhi.
