I haven't had Indian pudding since I was a kid. I can't wait to make it.

My Mom worked as an advocate and RN for developmentally disabled adults in a day setting and one of the clients begged her for this so she assigned me the task of making it for him one holiday season way back in the mid 90's. I had never made it & thought it would be gross based on the ingredients but it was delicious and the guy ate the entire pan to himself the next day when she brought it to him. She said he never seemed happier then when he got that pudding for himself. It always made me feel good to know how much that small kindness on our part was appreciated. Thanks for the recipe

The Indian Pudding at the Student Prince Restaurant in Springfield Mass. was the best way to finish a great German meal on a chilly fall evening.

@@AnnesFamilyRecipe Just to let you know, though, the restaurant has new owners. I understand they have maintained the classic German selections, but have stripped the menu down a bit. I recommend the Jaeger Schnitzel with spatzele if you do go. And rock on. Great recipes and enthusiasm.

Concerning the molasses, it's recommended that whatever you measure it with and pour it from gets greased before the molasses gets added, so as to include the remains. If any remains, you'll get less molasses than you measured. The grease, such as Pam spray, will prevent that. Anyway, I also once read two other things about this dessert: 1. It is good with raisins mixed in (golden at least). 2. Without ice cream or whipped cream, it also makes a good breakfast.

Like everything else you make, this looks amazing! I’ve never even heard of Indian Pudding, but now I have a new recipe to try! Random question... who films for you while you’re using both hands? I don’t think I’ve ever asked you that.

Big House Tiny Living thank you! My husband films all my videos for me. Lately he’s been experimenting with different angles/using the tripod less. He has a good eye! I love in this video when I’m tempering the eggs he had to casually slide his hand into the shot to hold the bowl so it wouldn’t fall off my counter.

There must be something wrong with me. I don't bake it; I cook it on the stovetop and eat it like porridge for breakfast. Oh yum!

I made this yesterday and it was delicious but not as firm as I like. It was also very sweet. So, the next time I make this, I will eliminate the brown sugar and put in another Tablespoon of corn meal. 🙂

No no! I'm sorry for the confusion! The "Indian" refers to Native American Indian--this is just the traditional name in the United States for this dish. Thank you for watching! :-)

It's not a East Indian recipe. It's a Native American Indian recipe....
