Ok... apparently youtube decided to fail on me. I have no idea what happened... I will reupload the video again in hopes that youtube doesn't destroy it during processing or something. Sorry for the delay folks. I will keep this video up while I upload another version in case this one decides to work.

To put F1 and Indy car in the same category I think is a bit unfair, I've watched both series for years and both series require great driver skill and expertise and both are very different machines to drive, so to say that one series relies more on the drivers than the other is probably unfair to both series drivers. Take drivers like Montoya and Zinardi, both drivers who have have success in both series. Nigel Mansell who won both the F1 championship and the Indy Championship in 1992. I see both series drivers as equal. I like the "anything can happen" Indy 2011 + 2012) in Indy Car and which is something F1 doesn't seem to reproduce (as much) but i feel that F1 has more suspense (Canada 2011 + Brazil 2008) and has more focus around the championship rather than race by race. Although both series are able to produce some fantastic racing and exciting TV. Sure F1 has Kers and DRS, but the aerodynamic evolution has put the cars to point where sitting in the dirty air of the car in front is now more than just a disadvantage. It's same reason why Indy Car has the push to pass on street circuits, Indy doesn't need the DRS because they aren't pushing as much downforce as F1 and don't have as much to lose in the dirty air (Not that makes them any less of a beast of drive). I see it as each series has their own advantages and disadvantages that make them two very different series.

Neither Montoya or Zinardi, Michael Andretti could become F1 champions F1 has the greatest talents. The Inycows of today are way off, I like the CART series though those ware awesome

Actually, it seemed like fair racing, I just thought the blue "let that guy pass you" flags should've been out considering they were already a lap down. I have also since learned IndyCar does not actually enforce blue flags.

This is so much nicer than watching F1 (from from england) overtaking without DRS, Kers or other stupid car features just pure racing and skill.
@cornszn3058

Antony Seddon well you can say the use push to pass. But DRS is more powerful and you can use an unlimited supply, as long as you are within 1 second of the driver in front.

Can someone tell me which other Indycar races are on similar racing courses? REAL ones, that aren't either just boring ovals or street courses that look like the drivers' dads built the course on the weekend before.
@michaelroberts2023

I honestly don't think indycar is behind f1 anymore. In indycars you have to do something very interesting: It's called doing the overtake yourself. I mean i like modern f1, but it's not even as much a test of driver skill as say 2008. 2008 there was no traction or launch control, there still isn't now, but they also didn't have kers and drs. Sure, f1 is faster, but make no mistake, in indycars they're still pulling some G forces out there. You can't be an ordinary person and just jump into an f1 car, but it's much the same with indycars.
@javakris

I'd have to disagree, but not because of the cars. I think F1 has a far better selection of venues than Indycar and it's international presence helps that. Indycar's ovals are fine and all but, let's admit it, make the sport laughable outside of the US. I think Indycar could benefit greatly by moving towards more road courses and street courses. The odd oval is fine but I think the series would be better off not trying to beat Nascar at its own game.

Indycars look like and drive like a truck compared to F1. Nothing but go carts on steroids. They remind me of some kid trying to make his car look cool by putting wings on it that don't fit, a roll bar that's to big and maybe a racing stripe. They will never compare to F1. It's like bringing a cow to a horse race.

Better than those ugly pieces of shit they call F1 cars now, god those things sound like golf carts and the noses are the ugliest things I have ever seen on a racecar.

Maybe you could say that if IndyCar hadn't been around since nearly 40 years before F1, IRL and CART split up in 1996, but it's still IndyCar. Also the engines and chassis are well matched, which levels the playing field... unlike F1 where teams squeeze around the regulations, with guys like Schumacher and Vettel winning most of the time. F1 cars are toys compared to Le Mans cars like the Audi R18 E-tron... the car F1 dreams to be with their adorable little hybrid V6 engines that crap out. F1 was much better between the early 70's - mid 90's.

John More dude. Two different series, different tracks, different drivers, and two different cars. If you don't like the way the Indy cars look or drive, than don't watch it or talk about it. How about you watch formula one and see how bad the competition is. Then go back to Indy car
