There are three types of inertia:

Second Inertia: Second inertia is the tendency of an object in motion to remain in motion in a straight line at a constant speed unless acted upon by an external force. For example, if a ball is rolling on a flat surface, it will continue to roll in the same direction and at the same speed unless something (like friction or a bump in the surface) slows it down or changes its direction.
Third Inertia: Third inertia is the tendency of an object to resist changes in its rotational motion. For example, if a spinning top is knocked off balance, it will wobble and eventually come to a stop, but it will resist any attempts to change its axis of rotation.
