I’m using the BW filter. As soon as I got it I downloaded the B&W. Love it!

Hi Rob! Thanks for chiming in and dropping a comment 🙏🙏 Yes I remember your b&w shots on IG and I thought they were great! The reason I haven't put the filters in yet is because I like the idea of having the option for changing color or bw depending on the situation. However since I live in b&w I might just do it and use this as a b&w only camera! Your b&w shots got me thinking I should try it thank you! 😍🙏👍

People take "film like" for poor digital images... As a film shooter since the 1970's I can say the closest I've seen are the Nikons D3 and D700. The rest is digital, good or bad. Bad, in this case, if comparing to film...

Well said! You got a decade head start on me but as a film shooter since the 80s I don't remember film being THAT bad 😂 Yes it could be bad too but it depends on a lot of variables. What you said is the best way to describe what people these days consider "film like." Poor image quality is what people today think of when they think of film and I think that's doing film a disservice. Thanks for your comments I appreciate it!
@joseerazevedo

@@cameralegend1033 a disservice to film is a perfect definition. People today seek everything immediately. Most people don't study the things they use. The measurement of today's best camera system probably won't be that different from Sunny 16, specially for film. On chrome is different, more precision is needed. When you know what you're doing, you get quality results and save money. You know this very well, from what I saw on your channel. Nice!

I was talking about the Yashica EZ-F521 unofficially called the Yashica "Digital Holga." It came out in 2009 and cost me at the time around $80 bucks.

These companies have the right idea but go about it the wrong way. A point and shoot film simulating camera is an amazing idea that would catch on great. The problem is all these companies who are trying to do that don't understand what constitutes the "film look". They collate the film look to crappy digital camera quality, and they're both fundamentally different. Film photos are a lot softer looking than digital and the grain is also not uniform like it's portrayed on so many digital replicas.

@@BRZguy Well said! The thing that made me decide to check this camera out for myself was the almost universal praise it got from commenters on social media. Perhaps some of the commenters were company hacks but it couldn't be all of them. So it made me realize that, in addition to what you said about the companies not knowing what makes an image "film like," it seems many users of this camera don't have a clue either! It seems that film = crappy to many people and honestly film wasn't that bad! 😂 Thanks for your input I appreciate it!

@@cameralegend1033 Exactly. Like a lot of young people also think VHS was just like red and blue mismatched color channels and scan lines but it was so much different than that.

@@BRZguy That's right! I remember VHS and back then I was really into camcorders. I do love me some Super VHS! 😂 The kids today I suspect only know VHS through the funny "VHS" filters on social media which depicts it in the worse way possible. Appreciate your comments! 👍
