@@EdBwoy thanks Ed.. still having timing and vvl setting issues. We're putting a low mile engine in next week. Got the sequential mirrors, rgb emblem, and oooga horn in yesterday.. posting clips shortly.. as far as the engine goes the builder thinks someone mismatched the heads.. he's gonna double check the casting numbers but regardless getting a used engine. Word of advice to any in my situation. After 11k for the rebuild, and another 12k in additional parts, and 7 months at the shop, it's still not right. Buck up and have Infiniti rebuild it, have Ed rebuild it 😜😜, or get a used engine. NOBODY, not even Jasper is done with R&D, so the only ones with all the info are Ed and Infiniti 😂😂😂 maybe Ed could reach out to the builder 😂😂 teach em how it's done.

how fast were you usually traveling? If I use the hills right and what not, I can get 2-25 in the M45. Not a fun time but achievable.

I also noticed there's also not much difference between sport and economy so I leave it on sport mode for city driving and only switch to eco when cruising the highway. In economy, you waste more gas from a dead stop and get up to speed slower.
@EdBwoy

Economy would be good for people in heavy bumper to bumper traffic. If it's flowing at all, it makes sense to have the car shift and accelerate normally.

I mean personally I use eco all the time because it not only pushes back a little on the pedal telling you your pushing too hard, but it also chokes your throttle response so that your not driving so hard. But it doesn’t literally affect mpg at all, so you could do it all yourself

Here's a clue and correct me if I'm wrong. When ever someone says dont mind the onboard computer mpg. That means the car was re-geared. To like 3.5:1 or 3.9 is kinda the sweet spot for v8. Normally offroad folks are more keen to this. It's the only thing that you can change unless he swapped in an R31 from a frontier to re gear his car I stand corrected. With my Nissan Titan I geared it to a 3.90, which helped on the miles per gallon on 35 inch tires

Sorry if that statement was misleading. The car is actually bone stock, as they came from the factory. Obviously, the total effective gearing varies a bit - especially with it being a 7 speed transmission - but when you put it in sport mode, you effectively lock it in 5th. When I dismissed the onboard computer, I was just referring to the fuel economy for this particular trip. I reset the onboard fuel economy computer years ago and have not touched it since. So the 19mpg (US) average is still accurate for my ownership of the vehicle, which is tens of thousands of miles as compared to this relatively short trip. *I still calculate my fuel economy for every trip as an indicator of general equipment health*.

Ik this was eleven months ago, but all I gotta say is idk how Nissan programmed the m56 but it’s totally off, one tank can last me 400 miles and I’ll get 20 mpg and the next won’t even last 300 and I’ll get like 19.5 mpg. And with my Titan I had got like a solid 12 normally, that thing was not friendly at the gas pump

@@gaugebuseck3375 my titan was in the 12s until I swapped out the exhaust manifold, I was able to get 14... More if it was just highway. I'm at sea level, with stock size tires... I lost milage when I went to 35 and 37 inch tires. 4.10 gearing. Its now a fun truck, green sticker off-road with plates to get to and from the dirt. Exhaust always cracked swap it out

Nothing special really. I just drove on state highways for a majority of the trip (one lane each way). I was in sport mode throughout, and even made a few 0-60 dashes, and blasted past a few slower cars.

@@smokeyrahman3919 so the car is pretty much stock, and actually soon needing maintenance. I have hit these high numbers before, it's just that I never bothered to record videos or share back then. These days I changed my KZitem strategy to "less engine rebuilds, more everyday activities". Lol

@@EdBwoy oh ok, it seems like many m37/ m56 car owners have terrible gas millage. Ive cleaned the throttle boddies and used fuel injector cleaners, reset the ecm, but i'm still getting 14 mpg in the city, high way 21mph on economy mode. I think standard mode gives me better gas millage. any recommendations for better MPG? thanks

You won't believe this, but I almost never drive in ECO, I use standard and sport only. And even then, the transmission has learned my preferences well enough that my sport and standard behaves pretty much the same when it comes to shifting through the gears. So why use sport mode? Good question - I like to hear the downshift rev matching. Haha
