Nice comparison. Looking forward to the paddle techniques specific to inflatables :)

Yeah best intentions… I’m going to spend the late winter in N Alabama so should have those videos then. Just got a 360 camera which should allow me to get good video without a camera operator

Inflatables can pick up swimmers & bring them on board. You can't bring an injured swimmer on-board a small hardshell.

Too true. It would be very difficult to get someone ON a hardshell. I typically paddled with a lanyard someone could hold onto and clip it to one of my deck loops when I had a hardshell. I could tow them to shore. Getting them onboard an IK is definitely preferred though as it gets them out of the water.

What pump do you bring on a trip? Because the pump that comes with these boats is huge! Also, how often do you have to top off air?

Honestly on a day trip I don't typically worry about it. I pump my boat up really hard, place it in the river, and then top off. My friend Jason brings his foot pump and my other friend Clark has a Carlson hand pump. On an overnight trip, we'd probably have a raft in which case we'd have a 4" Carlson pump with us. I haven't done an overnight in the Viper XL yet so no idea about that one. With the Lynx or Outfitter, once you pull off for the day you'll want to bleed out the inflation a bit once on shore so it doesn't get over-inflated then you'll have to top off in the AM prior to hitting the river. If the boat's left tied up in the river you don't have much to worry about and they'll retain their air excellently.
