Some fun facts for the younglings here: Snow, grew up in a housing project in Toronto/Canada and used to hang out with a Jamaican crew, who tought him to speak padois and gave him the nickname "Snow White" that later became "Snow". The guy was a proper gangsta,he was actually in jail, for attempted murder, when the song was first released and became a local hit in Canada. After he got out,the song went huge in the charts it was practically everywhere back in 1993,there´s even a parody by Jim Carrey from "In Living Color". He could never repeat the success of "Informer" but is still performing as a MC and DJ and he also does lots of charity work in his old hood.

I have loved this song since it came out. Never knew what he was saying besides "INFORMER" and "Licky boom boom down." Along with some of the slowed down parts lol. It's hard to believe that it's English he is singing/rapping lol. Now I know I can't be the only one that grew up singing along with it, and just sang gibberish that sounded like it matched, until it got to the parts I know😅😅 I don't even know if he made any other songs. Whats a licky boom boom down mean? I always thought he said i lick ya boom boom now 😂 Edit interesting This is NOT what Daddy Snow says in his hit song "Informer". He says "a licky boom-boom dem" (not "down"), which means that the informers are ass-kissers. Any Jamaican knows this. "Licky boom boom down" has no meaning, and it's not what Snow is saying either. It's just a mis-heard lyric by people who don't understand Jamaican Patois. a "licky boom boom" is an ass-licker or ass-kisser. The "dem" at the end refers to "them", the informers. They are ass-kissers.

I at first thought he sang/rapped in a different language and threw in an English sentence once in a while, but Jamaican is English too I found out later, this was in the 90s. Same with Ice MC. But watching it with lyrics makes you realize why you didn't understand a word from just listening to the song. I mean Jamaican should perhaps be classified as a creole or pidgin language, lol. Anyway, great song, truly a 90s classic.

Geez hey, 'well I am 56 yrs and started listening to this as soon as i heard It, bloody loved It. still play It loud for any close by neighbours and sing as much as i can keep up with. I got a fast talkin son, used to drive me nuts. But as a youngin he could hear and keep up with all kind of Music I played, He Is a PT carpenter, all other time he spends writing and singing in his home made studio. Thrre of his fiert he put to music, . I was saying no if it aint on the stereo all you hear it tone deaf craf. he starrted one and I almost fell into my fridge, " I said that fucken you son". mummas know there kids voice, even that quick. He could and does still keep up with snow and at times ive read lyrics quick as could to be sure me kid aint cheatin. we dont like cheats in OZ. we already got gov, n scomo.

Jeez, no wonder I couldn't understand him. "Detective mon said Daddy me Snow me stab someone down the lane"? I get what he's saying...the police are accusing him of stabbing someone...but I have never heard anything like that before. "Daddy me Snow me stab". That's practically another language based on English.
