Thank you saved a ton of grief simply by advising that you cannot submerge the probe. And probe is fixed. Regards

Thanks for watching! I've thought about messing with the Pi as a fun project, but haven't gotten around to it. The Inkbird is just so easy.

After messing with this for 2hrs, I'm still lost. Great explanation, even better website tutorial. I set my inkbird 308 WiFi to turn on heat below 60, cooling above 90, no idea where I'm going wrong. Heater works fine, shuts off at 60 but I cannot get the cooling fan to kick on at 90, it starts immediately at 60. Heater and cooling are a constant on off. What are the setting? Help.

Thx for the extensive review (link). From what I've read, even though there's an app to control the device, I can't find any description about if you can program in temperatures for each day over the full duration of fermentation - and have this saved as a particular profile. Would the user be required to manually make an alteration on the app each day?

So, the app itself seems to be built on top of some other 'smart home' platform, which DOES allow some scheduling. In the main screen of the app, you can tap the 'smart' icon, then set up multiple schedules. The downside is that it seems to only support running on days of the week, not specific dates. So you could schedule it to set to trigger a different setpoint each day, but you'd have to do it again for the next week. Not ideal, but better than nothing

Great video! I'd like to be sure if it's possible to modify the temperatures while you're away, through the wifi connection. Can you do that? For example if you go on vacation and want to not only monitor the temperature but also change it. Thanks

Yep, I can control temperature setpoints and other settings remotely, over WiFi or Cellular

thanks for the demo. I'm really interested how this works out. I'm thinking of using it to create a temperature log throughout the brewing process so I'm wondering if the app enables storing/graphing multiple temperature logs or if you can export the data so I can import it into a spreadsheet. Also can you set the recording frequency? If I have multiple ITC-308 Wifi units will the app talk to each one (successfully?)

Hi Mark, thanks for watching. In all honesty, the graphing portion seems to be what the mobile app developers spent the least time on. It does store multiple days (which build up in a list with an odd naming convention) below the main graph. Recording frequency seems to be fixed, and so far I haven't found a way to export the graphs either... As to your other question, yes, you can have multiple devices connected to your account. Thanks again for watching!

Can you turn the device off remotely? Or have it set so that when the temperature gets to where you need it to be, the heat light will just go out and the cooling system doesn't immediately come on?

Would you know if it would work with a motorized solenoid valve that would open to cool, close to "heat"? Looking to glychol cool a fermentor, but need to monitor the temp, when it is too cool, shut the valve so that the glychol no longer circulates and it is then in "heat" mode. If it is too warm, open the valve and circulate the glychol.

Hi Rob thanks for watching! This can be done, but the specifics will depend on your solenoid. In a simple case, you might have a 110v AC solenoid, which is open when power is applied. In this case you could wire a power cord directly into the solenoid and then plug it straight into the 'cool' output of the Inkbird controller. Some solenoids may take a 12 or 24v DC current to open the valve. In that case, you would need to plug an AC/DC transformer into the inkbird which would supply the correct voltage for your solenoid. Hope that helps!

Most solenoids are 12-24V and isolated on a transformer circuit. You could put this on the 120V side and have it just switch the 120V on and off.

So can you plug in both fan and heater?
@brucrafter8679
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, assuming your fan is for cooling. There are separate relay controlled outlets for heating and cooling. They are mutually exclusive... if the heater outlet is on, the cooling outlet will be off.

Can you use it whit a fridge?
@brucrafter8679
5 жыл бұрын
Yep. I use one Inkbird powering a fermentation chamber (small fridge) and another one powering my keezer, using the 'Cool' outputs. You just want to make sure to set the parameters well so that you aren't cycling the compressor too often, it will shorten the lifespan of the fridge/freezer.

I’m having an issue only being able to monitor the temperature when my phone is connected to the same WiFi as the 308 WiFi. Do you know how I could fix this issue? Thanks.

Interesting, I haven’t had that problem. I just tested mine by turning off the WiFi on my phone and testing via LTE cellular. I was able to monitor status, apply changes, etc. So it all seems to work fine remotely for me. You might try the “Check Device Network” function in the device settings to see if any errors pop up. Past that you may need to contact Inkbird support.

I only have one of the WiFi units at the moment, but the app does make it look like you can add multiple InkBird units... it allows me to go into setup mode to add another even though I already have one registered. Not sure what the max number might be....
