Just went to your site and looked at all the filters you did and I love that it's a great, quick reference. It would take hours to go through all the filters and apply them to my object one at a time to see what they look like. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to post all the samples available in filters. It can be quite time-consuming to look through all these options.

I was trying to make a bevel manually, having so much trouble, but due to your video, I saw that you had a bevel effect... Made my job so easy! Thank you for sharing and posting... You're so blessed. God bless you.

@94sho The problem might be that the target object was too large before you applied the filter. Try drawing a circle with a diameter of 100 pixels and then apply a filter. Hopefully this will help.

Thank you for the work you have done. Great video. Are the filters for updated version the same? If not, please provide similar treatment.

I love those filter previews that you made! Do you know if there is a way to see what filters are currently applied to an object in inkscape?

I love all of your videos!! So great! You really have taught me a ton. I have 1 question - When you format something like these with filters and you save as a .png you lose the formating. What can I do to keep the formatting? Thanks!

None of the filters do anything. I just installed the newest version of Inkscape, and still nothing. How do you enable the filter capability?

Great tutorial. Can you exlplain how you created that shape? Was is starting with a spiral, converting it to a path and then adding the effect "Shape Along Path"?

Second question, I want to overlap a rough paper textured object onto an other object to incorporate it to it. The problem is that the rough paper textured object has clearly defined edges, which would appear sharply on the overlapped object beneath. I would like to blur these edges, without blurring the whole rough paper shape. I tried to use an ABC filter called "blur the perimeter" (translated from French). But when applied to my object (which is fairly small), the whole shape is blurred or even almost disappear... I don't manage to blur only the very edges to integrate it nicely to the overlapped object beneath. Could you help ?

to stop the filter image changing when moved, group the image. you can also use combine.

Hi. The texture filters alter the texture, but also the shapes. How can I keep the original shape with clean path, when applying "rough paper" filter which automatically shrinks the borders of my shape ? For example, If I want to have a perfect rectangle but filled in with a texture of rough paper ?

Thank you very much for introducing me to this amazing variety of effects with the filter tool. I have made use of a couple of the filters for enhancing my logo lettering to great effect but when it comes to saving the svg image or exporting it as png it falls back to the original version. What can I do to ensure that the changes I have made using filters are retained when saving. I use the logo mostly on word documents.

Thank you for the instructions, I just found these features recently...my only question for you is that when I save them I save them as a png, and when I upload them to the net, it all goes away....all those changes that I made....do you know how I can prevent that...?

I always seem to have some sort of trouble with this program, The stone wall filter, my image completely disappears when I try to apply it :-(. The other filters don't do this. Likely I'll have to tweak something so it's not invisible, but I just can't to figure out how

so I've been trying all night to figure out how to get custom filters and save them so I can access them in the filters drop-down menu. I've found several sources that say to "save" the svg file to users/[username]/appdata/inkscape/filters (which I had to create) but none of that works. I can open an svg file with the filter I want and use it that way, but I don't know what they mean by saving it to that folder. I've saved the svg file to it, but that doesn't work...I have inkscape v.91 on windows 7....or am I just too stupid to use this program?
