In this video tutorial, I will show you the use of vector shapes as brushes in Inkscape to add simple patterns to your illustrations.
I have been working on a brush set with basic lines and patterns for Affinity Designer. These brushes are basic vector lines with a tapered stroke which can be expanded to be a vector shape. I took these shapes into Inkscape to use them as horizontally tiling patterns along a path.
This video shows the way I create a simple design [a fishing boat] and use the 'Pattern along path' effect to create the pattern on top.
