11/13/2011 - As the day progressed, the radio chatter about the worsening weather conditions increased. Captains of 100' plus vessels could be heard voicing their concerns about the increasing wind and increasing wave heights... how they couldn't hold anchors over a wreck, but didn't want to reset, and giving advice to each other on how the hell to make it through the inlet and back home. On our last wreck of the day, the anchors would not hold despite 3 or 4 attempts. There was simply too much current and wind, and the 6 footers didn't help. So we decided to head in. When we arrived at Jones Inlet, the tide was dead low and waves were standing steep and breaking all over. Capt. Roger Bing tried to find a hole at Jones Inlet, NY but she wouldn't let us through without a fight. In the video you can see us take a wave starboard side. Then Roger points us into the oncoming onslaught and slams BINGO into reverse. Bobb-O is filming in the cockpit area while shouting veteran advice up to the Capt. When there was an opening, Capt spun us 180 and pinned the throttles to the dash making a mad run to get the hell out of the inlet of fury.
