Good advices, but sadly you don't show it in practice (which is in my opinion the most important thing)...

You're a good robot skater, with this voice. But It seems we can learn from robot skater! Thanks and I skated in peloton with you, at Toulouse "la Ramée" . It was great, Viktor!

Thank god for this video. I hadn't skated for well over 7 years, and even though I still had the technique I had trouble braking, and today while going slightly downhill, I was unable to brake, I forgot how. There was sharp curb up ahead. If I didnt force myself to stop, I wouldve flown over the curb and landed my face right into the dirt and pavement so I forced myself to fall and my knees were skinned off. Hopefully, such an accident wont happen again, and it was the first time I got injured while skating.

I have wear a backpack with a rope around my waist. If I completely panic because of the giant hills in Colorado. I drop the pack behind me on the ground and the rope slows me down

I'd like to add that wearing knee pads and wrist guards (helmet is a must) improves safety of skating a lot!

When you fall, you hit the ground with your hands therefore I always wear wrist pads. I've fallen countless times with my head never in danger of hitting something.

Hi man. I’m an urban skater. My problem is, what do I to stop quickly. I’ve already crashed down a hill because slalom and plié did nothing for me. Please, anything would help, A LOT.

Power stop. It’s a little tricky to learn and it tears up wheels, but it’s an essential skill. Also for city skating don’t discount heel brakes. With some skill you can fully weight just your back wheel and the brake and come to a screeching stop VERY fast!

Parallel stop also.

Actually I want to amend my earlier reply: certain stops work better than others depending on your skates and your skill level. For example, you can power stop on street skates but not speed skates (at least I can’t) and you need a good amount of skill. Find a KZitemr that does the kind of skating you want to do. Bill Stoppard might be good in your case. Victor Thorup is an amazing speed skater but his technique and skates might not match how you roll. I try to emulate Victor when I’ve got my speed skates on, but Bill when I’ve got city skates on.

Bad audio. You should reshoot this video or ADR it. We turned the video off because of this. It was a good video apart from the bad audio.
