Session: Innovation - more than commercialisation?
Realizing the full innovation and commercial potential of biotechnology research conducted in academia can be challenging. Usually, research findings from academia become innovations when they are adopted by the biotechnology industry. The impact and potential of biotechnology, both on society and in the commercial realm, have attracted the attention of additional stakeholders. Government authorities, civil society organizations, and environmental advocates now play an increasingly influential role in this process, alongside the more traditional industrial development. This session will explore how research innovation goes beyond mere commercialization.
