I fitted one to my RT and think it’s really helpful. I am a blood biker / RoSPA / IAM and am punctilious about shoulder checks, but every so often I would be surprised by something coming past that I had not noticed. Not any more! Mine are fitted where you ended up, and I reckon that’s the best location for RTs. Worth seriously considering.

Saw your first vid on the watch face and decided to go for the mirror version. First off mounted them on the brake n clutch reservoirs on the bars. Ok but after a few rides moved them to the mirrors. Loads better. Took the mirrors off and ran the wire through some black heat shrink and under the rubber cover. Wired into spare Camsmart lead. 2hrs all in 👍👍

Yes, I just installed the mirror verison on my Spyder RT 22. with the indicators inboard of the mirrors on the dash. for you I would put them inboard of the speakers/outboard of the speedo/tack. that would put them in your normal ahead visual view

Bit of a big fail not making the mirrored version with breaks in the cabling to allow neater installation routing. Still, it'll probably be fine cut and rejoined.

Yes you can turn the buzzer off, and although with wind noise etc you can’t really hear them, when at traffic lights and stationary as I was saying, it really is effective and even with earplugs it’s audible :)

Old adage you can’t please every body. I would like to see the watch and the mirror versions on the same unit because I look in different areas of the bike in different scenarios, motorway cruising I’d be watching distance foreground mirrors whilst urban/rural I may be watching distance foreground (speed), distance foreground (speed) mirrors with more emphasis on distance foreground (speed), so it would be nice to be able to glance down or glance to the side and have the indication in my field of view. Another reason I would like to see a combined unit is, small lights bright sunshine and peripheral vision are not a good combination, I have £3.50 blind spot mirrors on my sports tourer combined with shoulder checks seems to work pretty well.

hey buddy, its a Hornig bracket that was designed for the older RT's and then the BMW Sat Nav Preparation cradle attached to it. Slight mod to the Hornig bracket to allow the Sat Nav prep key barrel to not foul on the mount... I've just replaced this as I have managed to source the modded dash surround... if you are interested in them as im selling the set up, let me know by heading to our website at ridercamtv.com/contact-us/ :) Toby

A great looking product, but it would be nice to see how it performs in the rain. I was travelling down the A30 last night in the dark, and the road spray was horrendous, with numptys approaching from the rear at ridiculous speeds for the prevailing conditions. Something like this would of been great. Would be nice if you could review it in wet conditions and heavy road spray.I'm only basing this from my marine experience, but rain causes "clutter" on a marine radar, which you have to dial out. Too much adjustment, and it hides targets. Would heavy road spray affect it as your radar unit is quite low?

so far not had huge amounts of rain, but rode through what seemed like a wall of horrid wet stuff on the A30 and it functioned really well.. Didn't seem to be affected much at all to be honest :)

Silly or not, statistically you are 30 times more likely to die on a motorcle VS an automobile when you are riding/driving. So, IMO anything you can do to increase your safety is a no brainer.

How does this improve your safety, if you get an indication of impending traffic the first thing you are going to do is look in your mirrors, if you are thinking of manoeuvring do a shoulder check so why not do it in the first place, that will improve your safety. The radar system also has a dangerous flaw.

I'm considering getting one of these to fit to my R1250RS as the rear view through the mirrors isn't as good as the R1250GS I had before and the more forward leaning riding position doesn't help either. Would you get this version or the watch face one, what's the pros and cons of the one against the other? Ta Bazza
@RiderCamTV

Hey buddy. Great system indeed. They are both the same systems but the read out or indication is sent to the watch or mirror versions. If you have space for the mirror versions we liked that system as it means it alerts you to the side that has been detected. If you are short on space on the dash the watch face is perfect. That’s the difference as well as the mirror version needing 2 wires fed from the ‘brain bit’ rather than the one for the watch version. Hope that helps :)
@Bazza47

@@RiderCamTV I had a look on INNOVV's website and they show the dimensions of the radar sensor, watch and mirror units which is very useful. I made a template of the mirror units as I can't see anywhere suitable for the watch version to fit and they will sit nicely either side of the TFT on my 1250RS and I'll be able to hide the wires too. This should help with the limited rear view (compared to the 3 GS' I had before which was one of the concerns I had about the RS as well as the crap colour options which they've improved too) so I've used your discount code and ordered one. Thanks very much for both the video and the discount code 👍

Given that these things seem to be triggered by speed, what degree of sensitivity do they have? Particularly, if a car is overtaking you but….. slowly ……, will the system activate when they enter your blind spot? Thank you much indeed!
@RiderCamTV

They should indicate to you that they are there and activate if they are slow but I would check the Innovv website for the speeds etc.
