Really enjoyable video Cal. What a shame about the new rod, but no use in dwelling on things. Thanks for the tour of some of your amazing islands. Catch you on the next one 👍🇨🇦

Thanks John. Yeah shame about the rod, I’ve bought a new one now. It’s a Penn Conflict 7’2ft seems like a nice rod so far. Thanks for the comment 👍🏼

Feel your pain. Snapped my high energy-z on Sunday morning after I slipped over on the rocks. Gert big bruise on my elbow too 😂 Good session on the boat though and beautiful weather for it.

I’d still buy Nomura rods, they’re great rods for the price. It was completely my fault, any rod would’ve snapped from hitting the rail at that speed 🤦🏼♂️😂🎣

No matter how expensive the Carbon rod, they are all weak through the shear of the rod

At least you still got a few fish on it! I could maybe cut it down but I’m not sure how well it will work. Could maybe use it as a 6ft from the kayak. I’ve since bought another 7.2ft rod. I got a Penn this time so looking forward to using it!

@@FISHINGWITHCAL You can. My 10ft lure rod is now 8ft I can use on kayak. I just moved the top guide down. The only issue is, the rod does not have much give, with it being a lure rod, you must be aware a big fish could get interesting!!
