As a grandson of farmers and ranchers I under stand the grain distribution as we hauled our crops to the elevators during harvest. Buying in bulk saves you money and with a bit of work you can distribute the feed to your livestock as the feeding process is needed in the winter months. Farmers erect the storage bins so they can sell their crops as the market favors the need for them to sell at a price they want. That information on the bushel prices is important to farmers and ranchers so they can have more control on their yearly income. Good video Mike!

We bought some feed for our chickens from our local mill . Plus molasses for our dairy cows. We milled our own grains into feed in a hammer mill we had. Then we bought a grinder and made life much easier. W ed also got our field grains to plant and fertilizer from the mill as well. They still ground corn mill for people as well. As a noisy child my nose was in everything but they liked to show me how things were done. I got alot of knowledge from that noisy nose and still have after 64 years! But it was great to learn so much.

I worked in feed mills in Southern California for 49 years. I estimate I filled, sewed and stacked around 2 million bags in my career. Most of the time I was making bulk feed, though. One man operated 8 grain rollers, and often rolled 1000 tons a day. It was dirty, thankless, and stressful work. This little mill would be a more pleasant place to work.
