The heart of the astonishing Big Bend National Park in Texas is the Chisos mountain range, which is basically the remains of a super-volcano that violently erupted between 17 and 38 million years ago. Similar to the huge Mount St Helens eruption in 1980 - only bigger - the Chisos volcano practically blew itself to bits and now lies in ragged, jagged peaks and heaps alongside the Rio Grande river on the border with Mexico. Standing inside the former volcano for this snapshot video from our 'A Year On The Road" RV adventure was an awesome prospect.
