Hey Adam you probably won't see this but if you want stronger scroll saw blades try cutting some band saw blades to scroll saw blade size. A buddy of mine does this to save money/
@dadams106
5 жыл бұрын
I used the scroll saw blades to make the scroll saw blades, or I used the band saw blades to destroy the band saw blades
@KnightsWithoutATable
5 жыл бұрын
This is actually a good idea since band saw blades are made of high quality spring steel that has been tempered. One of the reasons scroll saw blades break so often is the stresses create metal fatigue in specific spots. Since they are made of the cheapest steel that will for cutting really thin material only, this happens very quickly if you are cutting thick or hard to cut material.
@wyattroncin941
5 жыл бұрын
I'd also guess a large part of the issue is the blade quickly packing with swarf and getting pushed around, leading to breaking. might help to do a pecking action in thick material.

When Adam announced the resin hammer's place in the Cave and put it in with the other hammers of his shop, I found myself clapping at the screen like a five year old watching Muppets. I got teary eyed. I love the message. In a world where sometimes it feels like bad news every day, here's some good news. Every tool really is a hammer, and you can do some amazing things if you just set your mind to it.

Cool to see how people use the book as a hammer, it was only a matter of time before this happened. Cool for Peter to be the first (to get noticed, at least). Also: neat trick of holding the nail between your index and middle finger! It's a bit trickier to hold, but makes hand position much less awkward than when holding the nail between your thumb and index finger. (thumb and index finger used by Adam at 4:35, with the hand trying to not get in the way; index and middle finger used by Peter at 4:48, hand stays flat without any problem).
