@@gerboog It doesn't but we have to compare to see if it makes sense. Because the pricing isn't crazily up there BUT that will only have value if the performance is much better than what we can find at that price. Intel can't afford to even offer similar price. It has to to be a decent amount cheaper to be worth trying because anyone buying this, is taking a risk since this is their first effort and they are an unknown quantity while their ability for GPU drivers and software is already viewed lower than the other two. they have to suvive to the long run, being nearly a year late, on top of having middling/weak, preformance up front, and overpricing their cards on top of it, this is imo a scandal of a launch, I hope they can come back from it, but i do fear some leadership seeing this as a fail ,and cutting thier losses early, not understanding that this is a 10+ year efford, and not something ez done within the first 1-2 gen gpus. I really do hope for a 3rd competive competitor, but i find it horrible that they are so weak without Rebar, and that their older games support and preformance is soo terrible. Going back to frame interpolation, Oculus/Meta already has something that does that! It's called "Asynchronous SpaceWarp" for PCVR and "Application SpaceWarp" for their Quest headsets. For Application SpaceWarp, it uses the "Eye Buffer" (a render texture before it gets lens corrected), Motion Vectors and a depth map (So similar requirements with DLSS/XeSS/FSR 2.0). It's already available to developers and can claw back up to 70% performance (all running on a mobile chipset!). It works pretty well but still has minor issues. Even with some temporal issues, it's still crazy impressive! It'd be absolutely awesome if you guys were to make a video about it, or at least about the concept of frame interpolation, so people might start working on it for non-VR games!

I have 20 years of expierience with intel drivers, the short answer is no they can't. They need to steal at least a good fraction of nVidia's managers to fix that but they don't care. Even their current iGPU drivers are hit and miss, very anti-consumer, locking you out of basic features for your own "safety" and the next update has lower performance than your current driver, just is more buggy. So yeah, I think intel is not releasing their GPUs in the EU/US because they realised that the way they manage driver is too crappy to be a competitive product, so they push the release date further and further.

I fucking love DF! I wasn't sure how I felt about Intel getting into this space but now I'm excited for the new ideas that will be brought to the table by them. Great questions! I wouldn't expect anything less.

Thought Rich's phone screen was cracked at first lol. It's just the stripe from his shirt. But that low-profile sleeve around his phone is still risky 😆

Hmmm, interesting video. I like how some critical questions are made. I think you actually made him sweat a little.
