Don't take the escalators to F gates. Walk through the displays in the middle. It changes regularly and has museum like exhibits. Some are very interesting. I'll be there tomorrow night.

I sometimes don’t understand why people hate on US airports when they really aren’t compared to Asian airports. People seem to think that low ceiling and dimmer lights mean that the whole airport is bad. SFOs terminal 1 is more comparable to Asian airports but something to keep in mind while comparing US and Asian terminals is that US airports are more utilitarian and less of travel destinations compared to Asian airports meaning you won’t see huge complicated infrastructure but more streamlines airports designed for quick entry and exist for efficiency. For example Atlantas airport is the busiest in the world but also the most efficient. I have travelled to multiple airports around the world and I have got to say no one does airport operations better than US airports. However airports in Singapore, Doha, hong kong are more of a travel destination by itself and a statement piece for the country so it has to be flashy by necessity. So while US airports aren’t necessarily flashy they certainly are amazing when it comes to the amount of quick travel amenities they offer. But there is room for improvement and in the near future with new airport upgrades at places like Portland, Chicago, LAX, Pittsburgh, JFK etc there is going to be a drastic upgrade in the overall quality of many US airports. Also the US has many major airports with air travel being so prevalent compared to Asian or European countries where they will have just a couple big airports and can afford to make them statement pieces of high end infrastructure.

Yes! T1 has opened up in 2023 (with the remaining half opening very shortly in mid 2024). T3 is about to begin construction on modernizing and expanding similar to T1 beginning in a few months and lasting for a few years. Stay tuned!

To clarify, only the small section called 'Terminal 3 West' is currently being redesigned. (This would be the area containing gates F1 to F4.) I don't know if the other F gates are getting redone, as they don't seem to be the focus of this particular project.

Terminal 3 at SFO looks quite nice. I'm glad the food court has some really good options there. I haven't seen these gates during my two trips to San Francisco though since I always fly with Delta.

I was at terminal 3 last year for a flight and I bought a prepackaged sandwich from that Pronto place you had shown in your video and I got food poisoning from it! I have a permanent stoma on my abdomen with an ileostomy pouch. My stoma was releasing out all pure liquid nonstop for 20 minutes. I almost missed my flight. Fortunately it had slowed down enough before airplane boarding time. I emptied out my ileostomy pouch only once while in flight and I made it through the flight problem free.

I love SFO! I was just there a couple weeks ago and then a week later. For some reason I really like the baggage check area. It had this sort of sculpture thing on the ceiling. The only thing I didn't like about SFO is that there were signs around that said this was a "Quiet Airport". Instructions were given for people to not talk on their phones. No one bothered to follow this. I had a tendency to go off into a corner to get away from everyone and multiple times people came and sat by me and talked even though there was plenty of space elsewhere. 😠

When I use to work there it wasn't F gates they were just numbered gate. There was this place called BZINC that was apart of Compass Books store and that F area was just gate 69 this is interesting. So it looks like 9:00 Compass is still there but in a different location now 🤔

If you arrive from intl flight at G6 gate can you walk to F1 gate (connecting to domestic flight).) Do you go through security again? Get on a shuttle or walkable? thank you
@YellowProductions
3 ай бұрын
Hi Kiwi.. it's walkable.. but yes.. you'll need to go thru security again coming in from an international flight... you'll need to claim and recheck your luggage too if you have checked baggage.. the baggage recheck is right after you pickup your luggage and clear customs.. you don't go to the usual ticket counter, it's a special connecting flight bag recheck
