I remember reading that when Edsel was introduced, Ford flew 120 journalists from all over the United States to witness the unveiling of the Edsel. Then, each of them was given an Edsel to drive back to their home towns, so they could rave about this great, futuristic new car. 93 of the 120 cars broke down on the way to their new homes. Needless to say, at least 93 of the reviews weren't so glowing.

They showed the Polaroid SX-70 Land Camera. Why? That was a very popular camera and a huge success.

I love his philosophy in creating the museum. We take turns doing a fact of the day on a site I am on and I picked this museum as my daily fact for today :)

That rejuvenique mask was an infomercial product so it was basically meant to sell for as long as The infomercials ran and then disappear.

These videos kinda remind me of a more formal style of Casey Neistat's short docs, they are not bad but would prefer if they were more personal, like if we knew who were behind each video, and hear their voice

3:33 - I like the aesthetics of the Edsel. If I got hold of one, I'd likely have it retrofitted with a more conventional transmission scheme and anything else I could. Basically it'd end up as an Edsel on the outside only.

How's that Linda Evans mask working for you? Not every product makes a profit when introduced. The satellite phone is a solid product. Business 101.
@Mlogan11

+YepItsMe DC It doesn't matter if the satellite phone is the nicest thing since sliced bread- if the company wound up losing their shirt on the product due to poor sales, then the product is a *FAILURE.* You are confusing technical quality with business viability. How ironic to bring in "Business 101", and miss this simple fact.
@Mlogan11

+YepItsMe DC You clearly are confused as to what the video is about - the names of the FAILED PRODUCTS are not generic but SPECIFIC. The guy isn't saying the satellite phone in general is a failure, but THAT SPECIFIC SATELLITE phone product was a failure. Look up the Iridium Satellite Phone Bankruptcy.
@yepitsmefolks8958

The product did not fail; however, the company indeed went bankrupt. It happens due to poor business models. The other products in the video never worked or were poorly designed. The specific satellite phone worked and Iridium came back in 2001 using the same phones and satellite constellation. We can agree to disagree.

I wonder if they have that classic early 80's failure mug-o-lunch. It was designed to be a small lunch for workers that you put into a coffee mug and hit in the microwave. It wasn't very filling and it also tasted pretty bad.
