As a saudi arabian women , seeing this video made me have mixed feelings . Yes we do have a smal percent of people who are poor but guess what? Every other country does too ! The only difference between muslim countries and others is that in islam we are obligated to send out a certain percentage of money every year called “zkah” to help the poor and also alot of people do “sadakah” on a daily basis for the poor which is just giving out money just for the good well being of doing it . Secondly, not being allowed to have mixed gendered public placed is slowly changing search it up ! We literally have over 5 different events every weekend which are for both genders and no we arent seperated , the events are really classy just look it up under the name ( luxuryKsa ) . The blue man group , comiconArabia are just a few examples . I find the part about women not being allowed to go to the gym really funny actually😂😂 i go to the gym 4 days a week and i take care of myself and im quiet healthy actually😂 we may have over 10 different companies of fitness work that we can choose from which have many different stores scattered around the city . The cinema is actually now being built and has already been permitted from the government. 6 months from now you’ll find Women driving all around the city . Saudi arabia has changed the 2030 vision has evaluated us and made us a better country, but we will always respect our religion and its boundaries we’ll never cross . We’ve changed i just wish people’s version of country changes too .

1. A lot of the pictures used to show the poor side of Saudi are not even taken in Saudi. 2. Actually, there is a middle class and an upper middle class as well as a lower middle class. 3. There are theatres in Saudi such as the one in Aramco and public cinemas will spread hopefully in 2018 4. There are many gyms for women such as Studio 55 and Nu Yu as well as private trainers. 5. In many of girls schools in Saudi PE (gym class) are a mandatory subject and some girls only colleges have a football team or a sports team. 6. More jobs are opening for women in Saudi Arabia and it is pretty common to see women working in different departments. 7. The actual reason why the issue (why women couldn't drive) took so long to deal with isn't that of sexism. Saudi Arabia has one of the topmost car incidents occurring and it is pretty common for someone to die in a car crash in Saudi. King Abdullah who was the king before Salman (the current king) was actually trying to fix the roads from incidents and help make the streets more secure as well as installing different street cameras such as ones under the road. The change of women driving takes a lot of work to fix and there are way more reasons than the ones I just stated. Stop spreading lies a lot of these videos are false. Experience a culture before misinterpreting it.

They don't even need to go to mosque. I'm Saudi. The government gives ALL citizens money starting at age 21, the amount is based on your need. You can actually borrow money from the government to build a house, get married, etc. and only pay it back when you feel like it. (that's not a joke). If you die before paying it back, the loan dies with you. in other words, you're children don't pay the government back! Schools & hospitals are completely free for everyone. Public universities actually pay you a minimum of $300 a month to be a student. (Even on summer break) It can reach to $2000 or more if you have good grades. Okay, from all this (there's more but can't say everything here) when a Saudi national says they are poor, they actually mean they can't afford luxury. period. The "poor" people here are considered poor by social status, not survival rate. Unless there's a drastically special case.

6 жыл бұрын
M Hawat, I don't care what anybody says about Saudi Arabia because for me it is the most wonderful country in the world, and Riyadh, MY Riyadh, the most wonderful city in the world. I lived in that city for more than 7 months and I would not trade that experience for the whole universe. I fell in love with that city the morning after my evening arrival in Saudi Arabia. I was given a room on the roof of one of the 2 buildings that made up the school where I was teaching and in the morning when I got up to go to the bathroom to get ready for work I fell in love with Riyadh the moment I opened the door to my room and stepped outside. The minute I saw that cloudless light blue sky and felt that bone-dry desert air and saw that indescribable brightness which made me want to sprout wings and FLY I was hooked on the city without even knowing where I was!!! All I knew was that I was in Riyadh without having the slightest idea about what that building was or where it was located!! When I got out of the building with two other teachers to go to the building where we were supposed to teach I was already head over heels in love with the place. We stepped onto a nice wide quiet street with nice clean sidewalks and walked about 2 minutes past some nice houses and villas along high walls with big gates and by the time we got to the other building my love for Riyadh was confirmed!! That walk alone was enough to soothe anybody's nerves and for the next 7 months it did just that!! Over the next 7 months I visited McDonald's, Burger King, Dunkin' Donuts, and Starbucks for quiet sessions of preparing my lessons and doing my corrections and I would not trade THAT experience for the world. And when I discovered TAHLIA street, to which I refer as the Champs Elysees of Riyadh, my love affair with that city was complete. Sitting on the clean 7/8 meter wide sidewalk at one of the wonderful coffeeshops while gazing at the beautiful palm trees under that clear dry blue sky and that brightness which I had not seen anywhere else in the world is an experience I will never forget. I have left Riyadh for over ten years now and whenever I feel a bit down I remember my walks to the building where I taught and my trips to Tahlia street and I feel like I am going to conquer the world again!! Nowhere in the world have I felt that peace and bliss that I felt in my beloved Riyadh during those lovely pleasant 7 months. Nowhere have I felt that sense of well-being and happiness (and SAFETY) that I felt in my most cherished city in the world. Unfortunately, I will probably never return to my favorite city on the planet but Riyadh will always and forever stay in my heart and in my mind as the city where I spent the most pleasant and carefree 7 months of my life.

Its funny to see how being rich can be different in different countries. Like in America being a rich kid can mean having billions of dollars but in Romania being rich can be the same as being middle class in America.

Women live like Queens in Saudi. I mean you have a chaperone to drive you around, men bring home the dough for you to spend. Unlike, western women who have to wear uncomfortable skinny skirts and heels and work every day.On top of everything, men do not respect you.

Correction: There are gyms for females and there is PE classes in every school and college regardless gender. Movie theatres are opening soon. Women can drive. Restaurants are opening without segregation. Women are allowed to work in most sectors, such as engineering, medical, education, leaders, business owners, pilots, and many more that you wouldn't care to research. Women can travel without a male guardian, biggest example, my mother.
