Competitive TCG's are essentially a complicated form of Logistics. You need to find a way to get the exact cards you want from you deck into your hand under the best and most consistent circumstances possible. Those circumstances could relate to the card game directly, like needing the right cards to answer your opponents cards at the right time, or not so directly, like managing the time you spend between rounds to use the bathroom or remembering to bring a snack if there is no lunch break during a tournament.

I dont know much about price pools for TCGs but 25k seems a bit low. I mean you have to buy the cards and probably several decks over the year, then you have to pay travel costs most likely, because I Pokemon TCG has a point system for Qualifying right? So I think if you win the 25k you probably just made the money back you already spent, or am I wrong? Kinda insane to me, if you consider that pokemon is the biggest videogame brand in the world and even "smaller" esport games for example have way bigger price pools, even tho they make way less money than pokemon company is
