THERE IT IS! Go to 3:15 and watch when they're in the shopping carts. Robogadget pulls out a wineglass, and that wasn't in the film! I remember when this movie was being shown on pay-per-view so many years ago, and in ads for it they had that scene! Robogadget also had a crazy cigar with sparks flying while they were speeding down the street in the carts. It has been FOREVER since I've seen it, but at least there's a quick glimpse back at it :P. I really really really need to see that again...

ThisIsWEB It’s from the original 110 minute cut of the film, there was lots of scenes removed or repurposed into the film like for example that scene where Gadget was trying to put the moves on Dr. Brenda Bradford in which leads to that rocket coming out of his head and blowing up a car. And of course that innuendo joke “That’s never happened to me before” in which only a few bits were used during the scene with Gadget and the Gadgetmobile. I wish we got the director’s cut and saw some of the scenes put back in.

at first I thought it was more of a younger Adam Sandler, but then they mention its some guy who's name is Matthew, I can honestly say this movie had my best interest over 10 years ago, even over 15 years ago, but it was certainly not something I expected from the movie industries to be even able to make just yet, because look at how much technology they had to use, and as well, look at how much inspector gadget had to use, there was a great amount of recreation with humanity happening in the 90s as things were only just starting to try to get better years later after the VHS Tapes years were obsoleted, so in a real sense, I am blown away to see what we were even able to give movies then as I felt like nah they don't have the technology to do that yet, but who was I kidding apparently cause now that I came back to see this one more time in youtube I feel like oh woah, technology was certainly bursting into the solar system from out of nowhere my mind always assumed, nowadays its more so much made clear just wtf there was that I wasn't to sure about then, it finally had made me realize we didn't have a dump of a planet in the 90s still, in fact things I guess were being tidied up really well but beyond my comprehension lmfao

When I first found out this movie existed, it was used for a Kids Meal commercial for Taco Bell in 1999. Now you're probably thinking, didn't McDonald's already have toys for the movie? Oh yeah, the Inspector Gadget figure that you had to collect ALL the pieces for? Yeah, well there was a Taco Bell commercial for other toys, but they pulled the plug on it. The commercial showed a CGI animated version of Gidget the Chihuahua, the last time you ever see the dog before some stereotype act occurred. I can't find it anywhere, mostly because it was probably an accident and was a commercial for toys that never got produced. I just remember it and I know I'm not crazy, maybe WB aired it by mistake and I saw it? They also used Brain the Beagle from the movie in the commercial, which Gidget tried to talk to Brain but Brain turned his head away from Gidget. Well I guess I saw something strange, I could be crazy which I remember it very well. The last thing I would like to note is, the commercial was aired far after the movie was released on VHS. I just think WB had some prototype commercial in the line-up, then they noticed and remove it from the air. Thought this would of been interesting, I saw it when I was a teenager.

I never really liked this movie since it heavily downplayed the roles of Penny and Brain, who were more like side note characters, rather than active participants in the success of Inspector Gadget as they were in the show. Adding the love interest seemed like an acceptable addition for a feature length film, but not at the expense of the most relatable character for kids at the time and her trusty dog. Also, they seemed to ruin the mysteriousness that made Dr. Claw such a fearsome foe by never showing his face, and they skipped out on having his awesome car that could be a submarine or a jet, complete with video communication console, missiles, and interior padding best suited for a high end gentleman's club.
