Firstly thank you for the kind words...much appreciated and glad they are helping...Anytime you change a wheel size it will effect the way something rides..now that being said going to a 21 is a very minimal change...just enough you will notice but not enough that you cannot ride anymore. We go from 19's to 26's on a lot of the bagger models and its still very ridable...the first time you ride it, its slightly noticeable because its a change..but the second time you ride it itll feel like its always been there.

Hey Steve great video. I'm also thinking of changing out my stock wheels on my 2017 Softail Deluxe FLSTN. The only thing I'm worried about is going with the 18" rear tire and keeping the factory fender. Is there enough room for an 18" tire on the factory fender? Also how wide can i go with an aftermarket tire? Thank you!
@sikbaggers
Жыл бұрын
Hey Paul...thanks man...you will see here real son in a future video I went with another set of wheels and went back tot he 16. While there is plenty of room for the 18, the softail have a weird offset and it comes pretty close to the fender and while im positive it wont ever hit, I dont like it. I would just stick with the 16 rear and change the front to a 21. No need to change anything else that small of amount of change will not effect the way the bike handles..so no need to drop the front end after adding a 21.

its virtually the same thing but its quite a bit smaller so thats how you can usually get away with not taking the caps off to push the cylinders back in...the system isnt under as much pressure as a car. If you had the time and a desire to do so, there are a lot of folks that would gladly pay for a Patreon channel. In my region, there is a lack of shops available to do work on Harleys, so many of us are forced to become our own mechanics. Not a big deal, but it's nice to have a library of instructional videos.

Hey Brent...thanks you for chcking out the videos. I started my channel about 6 years ago out of frustration of some KZitemrs only uploading parts of videos and then asking you to pay to see the rest. I understand that youtube is their full income so I'm not mad at them about that but I have always strived to keep my videos free for everyoneand show every step of the way from start to finish. I try to keep the videos in playlists such as "road glide, street glde, softail, etc" so they are more readily available without searching through tons of videos. If you ever have a request for a specific video please let me know and ill do my best to get it covered for you. Suggestions are always welcome here.

I just bought DNA wheels for my 2020 Deluxe and I’m having issues with the wheels not fitting. The front wheel is about 3/16” of an inch too wide in the hub area. The rear wheel not on the bike yet because of the front issues. I’m checking out the rear wheel situation and from the outside of the new pulley to the outside of the new rotor I’m off by 1/4” new one being narrower by the 1/4”. Any help would be greatly appreciated as my bike is apart and the vendor is all the way across the country.

so watch my updated video that came out right after this one here kzitem.info/news/bejne/0KihyKmeopNqnn4 I had nothing but issues from DNA wheels and sent that back wheel back to DNA 3 times and it was never really right...close but not right...so I went with sinister wheels fat spokers and never looked back. DNA is a budget wheel and I get a lot of comments saying the same thing you did and also what I experienced. It seems its luck of the draw if you get a decent wheel or not...spend the extra little bit of money and get a quality wheel from Sinister. In the meantime call DNA and tell them their wheels are off and send that crap back

Switch pads to organic to keep those chrome rotors... chrome and not destroy there finish?

Any brake pad, organic or otherwise will eventually eat into the rotors if you ride the bike. You have two choices, sintered, aggressive, will stop you, last longer and does not cause brake dust but harder on rotors ....organic, softer, easier on rotors, doesn't stop you as well, dont last as long, leaves plenty of brake dust on your spokes for you to clean and will eventually scuff up your rotors just as bad as sintered. You have options. You just have to weigh them for yourself.

What wheel size did u do on rear and hub size? What hub did u use on the 21 front? On a Softail if you drill fender mounting holes to 3/8 is all yoh need to do. Most times you don't even have to so they. Don't need fender risers to run a 21 on a Softail.
