You need the oil at the tool end so that the oil goes straight into the gun. If it's at the compressor end, it just coats the inside of your air line with oil and barely any reaches the tool. Then when you connect your spray gun, the oil will work it's way along into the paint gun!

I agree. For the novice users this should work. Don’t use these tools enough to have to use direct oil method.

ya an inline oiler like this is to be attached to the tool not in the line. they make big inline oilers if you want to put it father up the line. just add one to each tool they are really cheap.

I use a syringe with a blunt metal needle. It works beautifully. No need to open the oiler.

Thanks for this vid. I was about to buy an oiler, but think I'll just oil my nailer when I use it. KISS

A simple £5 oil can works fine to fill the oiler

Mine came with a tiny oil bottle that fits in the hole, and it even came with a bit of oil inside the tiny oil bottle. They sell these tiny oil bottles as well. My tool also came with a tiny oil bottle. I wonder if the direction of installation is important at all for those pneumatic in-line oilers?

@@LabelSeven Without the tiny oil bottle you are wasting a lot of time and oil trying to get the oil in the inline oiler.

Yes, the direction matters... In this video the oiler is connected the wrong way around

@@frederikmare9002 I called the people who sold it, and asked if the direction matters, and according to them that was not the case. After using it for a while I can confirm that oil is being consumed. The only way out for the oil is via the tool. That's all I know. Or at least that is what was told to me. Anyway, it works for me. I think that it is best practice to check that the oil is being consumed or not. That is another reason why I made a short dedicated extension hose with quick couplers for my tool oilier, so that I can see what is happening, but also so that I don't have to worry about oiling the entire hose, and I can use it for any tool that needs oil, or simply decouple it when oil is not needed.

Hi! I am a small business owner located in Houston, Texas who manufactures pneumatic in-line air tool lubricators. I'd like to see if you would be willing to review my oilers. If you would be interested, please let me know how I can get in contact with you. Thanks!

Does it matter which end goes to the tool and which end connects to the air compressor?

I agree 💯 with D H1... The direction does matter!... In this video it's hooked up in the wrong direction.
