New: AM4 Version: kzitem.info/news/bejne/xq6jrHakkIyAqY4 Important note from @antonnikolov2849 as noted below , be careful of installation as rotating the cpu cooler tower by 180 degrees can give you more clearance to access your GPU. There were some complaints about missed fan Y adapter connections in this video. I have redone it here in 4k60 and even show how to uninstall it: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1mOsuX6dgnRhgWk This motherboard does have some slight damage (lol) from previous owner...got if off ebay for $60 and primarily have been using it for these type installation videos. I have to say, I really like this CPU Cooler for $35! It has pretty good cooling as you would expect from a large cpu cooler. I eventually will have some links down below for temps in FortNite and running various benchmarks. This will also be featured in a comparison video of under $50 cpu coolers from DeepCool, Vetroo, Thermaltake, ID Cooling...etc. I will also throw in a couple of stock coolers from I7 and I9 as well.

FYI, I have some comparisons that some folks might find helpful. I installed the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE on my AMD 5900x. With PBO enabled, this CPU puts out a ton of heat (I think it'll boost up to around 250 watts). In Cinebench, it would peak around 81 C. After replacing my system RAM for unrelated reasons, the RAM was taller, which forced the first intake fan to sit at a slight offset relative to the tower - maybe 20 mm. That fan/tower misalignment was enough to increase temperatures by about 8 degrees C in Cinebench. I ended up removing the air cooler, and going with a high-end Corsair 360 AIO (Corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX XT). It's a beast of a cooler, but it only managed about 2 degrees cooler than this air cooler! The big advantage of the AIO wasn't temps, but noise - the AIO is much quieter than this air cooler. This air cooler has only really four downsides: * It makes getting at some system components a pain, and sometimes requires you to remove the tower first (system RAM, some NVME drives) * It won't give you much RAM clearance, so if you have fancy RGB RAM, you should probably look elsewhere. Check the stats first. * It is noisy when it really gets going, so if you're sensitive to fan noise, you'd be better served by an AIO. You don't have to spend like I did - you can pick up an Arctic Liquid Freezer II for around $150. * It requires a good bit of space in the case so that the front of the case can close - most newer cases won't have a problem, but some smaller & older cases will. Check the stats on your case for details.

Can that outside fan over the RAM be placed on the opposite side? Or is that not recommended because it will cause some type of problem? I have RGB RAM and don't want to cover them with the fan thx
@PC_HardwareTechUnboxing_1
9 ай бұрын
I sometimes do that the opposite in a test bench setup so the fans are not blowing on me...difference is, it is not in a case. In your case, you also want to pull air across the cooler and not push it. The latter should be better, but I have never actually tested it myself. If you put this on a CPU with 65W TDP, than this cooler is overkill anyways and that configuration won't reallly matter as far as overheating goes. Lots of other factors might cause issues related to case size, number of fans...size of GPU...etc. If it was me...I would say tested it out both ways and see what the delta is between them. Good luck!

Can you help me: I build my pc then, I put all RGB fan from the case all connected to the control rgb. I can put the rgb cooler all connected together with the others fans??? Or not? Thanks
@Tricky_Adventures
Жыл бұрын
I am currently building my first rgb system with the argb version of this cpu cooler (built quite a few other non rgb builds), so I am no expert at all on this. From the cooler instructions: "For fans with argb lighting, to control the argb lighting connect lighting header (3 pin, +5V) to motherboard argb lighting socket or argb lighting controller, lighting effects can be sync by connecting fan lighting headers with eachother." Each of the two cpu fans has a daisy chain connector, so you can daisy chain the rgb controls together. In this particular case I have one of the fans daisy chained into the other and the other fan's argb connector connected to the argb header on the mobo. From what I have read you can daisy chain multiples together for controlling the rgb effects. If your controller is able to support argb fans at that 5V and using those same 3 pins (looks like a 4 pin connector with one of the middle pins blank) , I think you should be fine. Good luck.

Will it fit with an additional set of ram in there too? It looks like there's barely enough space but I can't fully tell.

@@sexybrunchset8881 I installed the cooler a little bit ago, tbh ran clearance was just fine due to the fact that you can adjust the height of the fan

@@crimsoncoconut6463 i see. Does the fin in your cooler also bend or deformed when the fan clip is installed? It's kinda bothering me

I just installed this cooler with G.SKILL Trident Z5 Series 32GB C36 which is pretty tall 42mm. The fan sits above a bit, but no problem really, a small gap. You can see his aren't flush with the black top part of the cooler either, especially on the ram side. I would say that my fan on the memory side is riding about 15mm high compared to the black base of the cooler, and about 7mm higher than those metal spikes on the cooler. When I placed the fans on the opposite side on the back planes heat sink instead of over the memory it looked to be about the same height as if I had put it over the ram (you wouldn't really want to do that anyway since you would be blowing towards the front of the case). Anyway, I think this should work fine with taller ram, it's just that the fan will sit a bit higher. You will want to make sure your case has enough clearance for that extra 7mm or so beyond the stated cooler dimensions.
