So funny you compare the sound to a greyhound bus instead of a big rig or dump truck peterbilt 😂😂 But my fav in these trucks is. I like to drive next to walls and buildings and just lug it. These trucks are so loud. Also around 45 to 50 makes the best sound. I have a 2g and a 3g looking for a 4g now. Nice video.

Ive always run a 5” straight. Some people don’t like how deep sounding it is and do 4”. I personally don’t care if people think its to loud. I didn’t build my truck the way i want to seek other peoples approval. The house we moved into here in grand junction, all the neighbors are retired 80 something old people, so of course everyone was up in arms when we moved in about my noisey 2nd gen. Even had the cops called on me twice cause of it. What ever. I could put a muff on really easily heh but i don’t want to. The flo pro or diamond eye kits, the mufflers are completely straight thru! Haha. But They do tune it down some. Its really easy to pull out the small section of straight pipe and slip in a 5” in/out muffler and clamp it in if it gets to the point where its pissing people off in the morning. Its to bad you cant get a 5” down pipe on the 2nd gens. You could if you had a 3rd gen exhaust manifold where it was down and back. Thats why on my ‘06 mega cab i was able to do true full 5” turbski back. It prolly Don’t make that much of a diff. I wouldn’t be jumping at the bit to ‘3rd gen swap’ a 2nd gen just so you could go 1” bigger on the down pipe, its a pretty short run anyways. On my 3 first gen’s i did hx35’s from a 2nd gen 24v and was able to get 5” down pipes on them with a tiny tiny bit of massaging the firewall with a hammer. On one i hsd the hx35 with a 5” down pipe, then a 5” mandrel bent 45 degree elbow that turned it out and slightly up right behind the front tire! It was so loud! It sounded like a Cessna turbo prop coming down the road haha! I watched a video of this guy that did a 5” dual kit! That exited out back slanted behind each rear dual tire. It looks sick with dual 8” tips! Its waaaaay over kill. I mean dual exhaust sounds good but on a diesel its not really the ‘thing’ its not needed, the object is to get the hot exhaust gasses out and away as fast as possible. Fuel/air in, garbage out! So to have two massive 5” pipes snaking up and over the rear axle snd out each side is overkill, cool factor, but not necessary. I had dual 9” chrome bull haulers on my ‘06 mega cab, and it was very loud. ‘In Stereo’ with one on each side lol. 5” down pipe, short run of 5” straight pipe and then it turned up and the saddle Y pipe thru the bed was all 5-6” with huge 9-10” bull hauler turn outs slash cut. It was obxniously awesome, for a while. Went to a single stack for a bit, then went back to normal, as i got older heh. So my advice would be run it straight pipe, and if you have issues then you can muff it easily without having to cut or weld anything. Just as long as you don’t deform the pipes to much clamping them to tightly you’ll be able to get them apart still. Those zip screws holding the tip on aren’t going to stay, they are totally going to vibrate loose and your gunna loose your tip on the highway! Ask me how i know! Its funny like i said, the flo pro and the diamond eye muff’s are straight thru, you can stick your entire arm thru it! But they do quiet them down. And not the turbine noise either that you want to hear, it quiet’s that compression noise and rumble that shakes things. Haha. Out of curiosity how much did that 5” aluminumized straight pipe kit cost you? I was looking at reciepts the other day and the 5” diamond eye straight pipe with 4” hx40 style down pipe was only $300 bucks shipped free on ebay. I think they have went waaaay up in cost in the last year or two, cause im seeing them $500+ and up! You really need to do something with the front shocks. Those yellow things up front are oooogly! Im not saying a $5000 set of king coil overs or ICONs but a nice set of Fox 2.0 remote resi with the DSC adjusters would look nice. Remote resi shocks are like the standard these days. If you Don’t have a remote resivour shocks then you aint cool. The DSC adjusters allow you to adjust the hi/low speed compression dampening for a little more mine tuning. You dont have to get them with the DSC adjuster and they are like $100-$150 or so cheaper per shock without the DSC but its deff worth it to be able to adjust them. Is that truck got a body lift! Indont like how that hitch on the rear of the truck hangs down so low. That roll pan you out on had a cut out for the reciver yet the on thats on the truck is like 6-7 lower. I dunno. Thats why i ask of its body lifted or not? Or whats up with that hitch, get one that tucks up farther and fits inside the cut out of the roll pan. You can always yet a longer drop hitch. My monster truck chevy is had a 24” drop hitch i custom made.

What kind of head unit/ deck is that? I think i asked ya already but i deffiantly need to upgrade to something like that. Im still rockin an old 7” power acoustik flat screen lcd from like when they first came out in 2004 heh. I like how its a single DIN and the faceplate attatches and hangs over. The one you got looks to be the same way. I wanna get one of those now! -a tip for the dash bezel and interior plastics is you can get a special plastic paint. Its more Or a plastic ‘dye’ than a paint. To change interior plastics color or touch up worn scratched pieces like the rocker threshold pieces that get scuffed from your boots when you get in and out. ‘Dupli-Color’ makes it. They have a lot of factory matched interior colors. But thats what if do is if that dash bezel isn’t all broken and cracked if spray it with some of that dupli color plastic paint. Any automotive place should have it. Or Paint shop. There is something you have to absolutely make sure you do tho and thats use the adhesion promoter! You spray it on before the color/paint. It makes the paint stick to the plastic. You will want to scrub the interior parts with soapy water to clean and degrease them and get them free of any silicone and armoral. Denatured alcohol, or a wax and degreaser!

@@OutdoorLiving93 yes sir I just need to figure out exactly what I need to make it complete. I’ve never converted a 2 Wheel to four-wheel-drive but all I know is it already has the front axle. I have to do my research and see exactly what I need to do the conversion. If it’s not worth it, I’m just going to sell it the way it is and move onto the next project.
