A surprise video to be sure but a welcome one. Container shelters are awesome for all kinds of work for all trades. We’ve used one in line with a smoko hut container and on those 40+ degree days a shaded work area is a god send and being so close to an air conditioned ice box was fantastic. I can attest to these kits not coming with instruction manuals but with a quick KZitem video they aren’t too bad to put up.

I have 6 of these at my place. On my second year with them. So far I have been happy. Piece of advice: The brackets That attach to the containers need to be welded to the containers or at a minimum the Allen keys checked monthly. They do back out and slip off. Had 2 shelters fail on the same day where they slipped off the square tubing on the top of the container. Bent up the frame a bit and I had to remove all my junk to get them repaired. Also everything underneath does still get wet in the rain because they are so tall with or without the wall up. Good luck. Love my extra shade.
@chestervaldes7551

Yes, I think I would add the welds as the massive square footage of the canvas can create huge lifting forces on the frame, even with a moderate breeze- anybody with any sailing experience knows what I'm talking about.

Curtis, as an engineer you will grasp the significance of this question. As an engineer and sailor, it occurs to me that when you close off the end of the outside workshop - and congratulations on having it by the way - you will have created a large sail and a very large wind trap. The strain on the outer (first) arch will become huge on a windy day. My question is: will it be a sensible precaution to reduce the structural strain by linking a steel cable from the peak of the arch - and perhaps the second one as well - to either the top or lower corner of the containers ? I appreciate you'll not want to fix something that isn't broken, but this suggestion is a very cheap insurance to prolong the safe life of the canopy, and a small wind can create enormous power. Just look at similar sized sails on boats in your home waters, or talk to a yacht club. Great videos, very well edited. Good luck to all three of you. Regards.

I worked in tunnel construction and containers are a great asset on site, on a job in Cairo transport and equipment was shipped in 2nd hand container that had been partly modified as field workshops with window frames the openings cut out onsite, collapsible benches stowed on the floor and Land Rovers etc. loaded. These could be stacked around tunnel shafts to reduce noise, other used as your set up. At contracts end some even given to locals and used as cafes etc. We didn't have the offself cover option but site engineers did make it happen. Good to see you now have weather cover, trust there will be a light install just in case you have to work late. Cheers another great video and tips, stay safe.

By the way …… would love to know what this kit costs. Even with all the BS you had with it, it does look like a pretty good design. I would love to know how stable its going to be if one end is left open. It seems like it would be more likely to acting like a balloon with the open end. I think I would want to have some way of closing off that second end. Love the spider of death comment……. That thing did look a bit sketchy. You did amazing to accomplish so much basically on your own in 24 hours. Your body must have been feeling it with all the climbing up and down involved. You definitely could have done with your brother there the first day too. Thank you both for taking the trouble to produce this video. We would have all driven you crazy if you suddenly just showed up with a completed shed and nothing to show how you did it. Poor little Homey was definitely very upset to see his dad hanging about in midair like that ….. he knew you were risking your ass up their.

This reminds me of a Mechano set that I had as a kid. Some big kids get to do it full scale. Must have been fun.

We had Erector Sets (USA in the '60s). From comparing pictures, Mechano is much nicer, the Erector just had angles and beams, nuts and bolts, no special little little pieces.

Just like with the meccano sets: No instructions, and a few parts missing ;)

@@d00dEEE Eventually we, three brothers, had Santa drop off from his Sleigh a Mechano Steam Engine, we thought it Christmas when that happened, lol. What fun hours they were making something that could move. I gave this to a Mate who has two young sons so it teaches another young generation budding Engineers. John.

@@joandar1 A very sad day it was when Mechano was bought out by some other company who turned it into a cheap plastic rip off.
