You did it!!! Congratulations Nic. You make it look so easy and fun too. Your garage is now the most fire safe in the city. I guess with the right excavation etc it could be possible to tie in the shed but could be tough...hard to say. Hey I'd love to hear/see one of those old style sprinkler bells on the system someday. Fantastic video! I really enjoyed watching this series. I really do like the painted pipes, I think it adds a nice touch. Very professional looking! It is always important to add a lot of Teflon. If you hear the loud squeaking of the heads while tightening, that’s generally an indication that you need more tape. Curious to know if the 1/2 inch piping offers enough pressure. I’m sure it does, because those a residential heads. They are the exact same heads I have tested (central sprinkler company) and work great on lower pressure. Perhaps one day you can do a real sprinkler activation test, but that would be messy.
@nics-systems-electric
Жыл бұрын
Thank you and good tip on the Teflon tape the half inch pipes are definitely small compared to usually you never go under three-quarter inch. size of the pipe won't affect my psi as I've seen many of our schools as low as 50 psi with 6 inch pipes and mine sits at 70 psi but would definitely affect the flow of course. I would love to test it someday and see how it actually works sounds more like a summertime thing lol

@@nics-systems-electric My adoptive sister has a sprinkler system in her house. It is in a municipality that requires sprinklers in residential homes. However, it wasn't required to have flow switches at the time of installation. It is now required to have a flow switch. I installed one of mine from my collection and I bought a new one. Well, I just tied it into her burglary alarm system and programmed the zone for the flow switch as a fire zone. I think the concept of fire suppression systems and sprinklers is a great idea. A must have for two story homes. However, I understand that sprinklers are required in schools these days?

@@nics-systems-electric I work at a public swimming pool as a facility maintenance manager and they came in and tore up the ceiling and ripped out all of the walls to retrofit sprinklers. However, if you live in a two story house, I would HIGHLY recommend sprinklers. Sprinklers can definitely save your life in a fire. Most two story homes have the stairway in the middle of the house and Heaven forbid that house have a fire, you're looking at a two story drop for escape. Shouldn't homes be required to have sprinklers? Or are homes already required to have sprinklers? Or, is this dependent on the area that the house is in?
