Being your going up more than out, you should have some heavier torsion springs to allow for the vertical lift. Also, you can use 1/2" rebar to tighten the spring up, just have to grind a tad bit for them to fit snug in the holes!!

i had similar issues with my shop door, it pulled the lift arm off of the door like yours in the beginning. i had 3 different "garage door professionals" look at it and not one of them could figure it out. one loosened all my tracks up and left........ and it turned out all that was wrong is the sun had broke down the rubber seals along the sides and they were gluing themselves to the door. easy fix. just like to share incase anyone is ever as frustrated as i was last year!!!!!

I'm guessing that the prognosis on the dodge tick tocking wasn't good seeing it's now serving as a work bench for a new garage door project????

Awesome Video we have a similar garage door and I think we should get rid of it and get a new one like yours.

Lasting 20 years w/o bracing is actually kinda impressive.

Build your bottom section complete on a set of saw horses , then install your tracks , when you start building section 2-3-4 complete your hardware keeping one of the top hinges off.....next install your 2nd panel and add the L or R hinge whichever you left off when building the 2nd section to the door and now your ready for section 3 repeating the same process ....it takes on average about 10 minutes to stack a 8 ft high door after the 1 st section is set in with tracks ! There actually is a science and i have perfected it!

Wheres your operator support hinge and top brace ? Thats why your top section buckled under pressure! Never ever ever ever ever attach your opener j bracket directly to the door without these 2 supports mentioned ! .....live and learn ! if you need the job done right message me! Over 30,000 doors installed and over 200,000 openers , I know my shit! Lol

Can you make any regular lift door a high lift door @groutaone
@groutaone

Yes, basically you need track extensions, a few longer track wall mount brackets, top pulleys, and a matched spring

Good question, I don't remember what happened to it, maybe I still have it laying around somewhere.

@@groutaone could you look and see? Being a garage door enthusiast, I’ve never seen a shop master opener so that’s kind of cool
