Great video. I’m currently restoring (very slowly) a 90 GMC Jimmy and this video convinced me to buy a Softopper! Thanks for the in depth detail during the install.

Beautiful military machine, and I want it to remain operational for many more decades. It must never be replaced unnecessarily!

Thanks for the video. I just received mine for a 1979 Bronco. I am having a company install it that specializes in interiors, stereos, accessories, etc. What do you think a fair number of hours is to install for a installer that is skilled in custom interiors?

3 hours at the most. I would think a custom shop could do it in 2.

How are these on leaks during rain season?

As long as you install properly, it's fairly leak free. Sometimes a hard driving rain will get a little through.

Do you plan on keeping the soft top on year round? I have read some take off the tailgate and put on a pick-up tailgate to save weight and the fact you don't use the glass window anymore if using it year round. I plan on doing that way with mine.

We have had the softop on for two straight years with no issues. Drafts are minimal, and my son has no issues with the heat keeping up even on the coldest days. We removed the tailgate glass to lighten up the tailgate, had never thought of installing a pickup tailgate... but now that's an idea you got stuck in my head.

How do you like the M12 ratchet? I have been looking at them and the M12 drivers
@AxlesGarage

I like it, its like an air ratchet without having to pull out the hose. It also has a bit more torque than an air ratchet. They also make a heavier version M12 that is supposedly more torque and higher quality. I have found it to come in handy and reach places my battery Ryobi light duty impact wont

@AxlesGarage

2 can do it, it's a bit heavy. 3 definitely makes it better. One on either side and one in the back. Used to do it with 2 back in my 20's.
