This was really helpful, we are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and I have a double drainboard sink like yours. Yours looks absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to get mine in. My husband told me the same thing, "you better make sure this is what you want because once it's in it's in. I said, " we will see". LOL

I am currently getting ready to install a sink like that except it has two basins and two drain boards lol. Mine was such a change that I had to tear out a whole section of cabinets and a whole countertop. My hubby is a truck driver so this project is all mine!! Lol wish me luck!!

Your sink is in excellent condition! Looks good in your kitchen. I have one just like it but it’s only one drain board to the left. I found it at a small antique shop out in the country for $125 Nothing like them❤️

This looks just fabulous! It’s encouraging to see the whole process- one of these types of sinks is installed in my garage and has a few layers of paint/muck in it. I’m redoing my kitchen, and after watching your process, I’m encouraged to clean it up and bring it back inside!

How do u like the side board drains? I have a 2 hole sink with side boards both sides, but no counter top space on left side. That 15 inches or so is my counter space. I love the sink but I don't know if I can afford to sacrifice that space on both sides of the sink. I dont know how functional the side drains are if your not cooking or something.??? Its the House I grew up in. Dad skidded / rolled it on logs with a team of horses about 2 miles on dirt road which is now hwy 59. It was a dirt floor house that they were about to burn down. Dad and mom cleared the land with cross cut saw, double bit ax, and brush ax. He dug and pulled every stump with horse. Lots of years of hard work to be had by all of us. Gardening/ canning/ firewood , someone sang a song when I was a kid, all I rember is .. spent summer time cutting up logs for the winter... I remember hearing that and thinking boy I know what that means. That was every summer, seems like yesterday but it was well over 50 years ago.

What a great story about your parents and how things used to be. It seems to me that the work was harder but in so many ways life was much more simple. And yes, we spend the summer cutting up logs for winter too! I do love my double drain boards, a lot of the time I will put my cutting board right on the drain board when I am chopping things. It makes clean up easier if something juicy runs off of the cutting board. Also I wash my dishes by hand and let them air dry so my side boards are always in use. But I'm not sure about giving up all of your counter space. I'd love to know what you decided to do.

How did you secure it to the cabinets beneath? My mom has a double sink with double washboards installed on the original metal cabinets but they are rusted out and need to be replaced. I'm trying to figure out a DIY fix but need a little help!

What did you use to coat the large chip on the left top of the sink? It looks great! I’m getting ready to install one just like your last sink and the side need coated.

I meant to make a video about that. Maybe I still need to do that! I used Miss Mustard Seed's milk paint, I also fixed a lot of small chips along the bottom edge with it. It has worked great. I used the color farmhouse white, it matched my sink perfectly. I sell it in my online shop if you are interested, ramblingrosefarmhousemercantile.com/collections/miss-mustard-seeds-milk-paint-1 .
