@ 5:52 Save yourself a little time working under your helm, route your hoses through the pump opening, attach them to the pump, THEN mount the fasteners for the pump to the helm, get your slack the way you want it under the helm, and then work on the motor end slack and connections. You're Welcome.

A good trick I learned as an electrician when running wires through tricky bends is to run two pieces of twine and leave one in place---that way if the tape separates you have a spare---then use the spare to run two lines; rinse and repeat as needed.

Clove hitch at the bottom and half hitches and you’ll never loose one. Never lost a cable in 15 years 2pr16 to 3c750 works every time!!

You should also mention that the lines have color coded caps, so that the person doing this job pays attention to which side the hoses go on, before they take those caps off.

When you attach the hoses to the helm ,the hoses are supposed to go opposite of what they are on the steering ram,the starboard goes to port at the helm and vice vera,,,this is from the owners instructions page 2,,clear as daylight

Teflon tape should never be used in hydraulic systems. If just a small piece of tape it can cause major problems and locking of steering!

I agree,if the instructions don't say it ,don't do it.My kit ,the fittings have a washer with some kind of O-ring to prevent leakage

First thanks for the video I'm about to put one on my boat. Question does it matter which hose (green cap or red cap) goes to the port or starboard side? Same at the helm?? Thanks again

Better DIY. Palm City Yachts wants $150/hrx4 to install this system. $600 labor costs more than the unit. Two hrs max@$85/hr.
