Amazing tutorial, thanks for sharing! I'm in planning mode for my own van! After 2yrs research, yours is my favourite van design, very inspiring! Max & Occy were a close second lol. 👍 Perth, WA

Very though, well explained tutorial. Just happened onto your video the day after buying a Chinese heater, bugger. We want to run our hot water on diesel as well, so will look into investing in this unit for our Toyota Coaster. Nice to hear an Aussie accent for a change ;) Looking forward to more

Had a Webasto dualtop ( air & water heater) for 10 yrs . Nothing but problems since the 1st day . Final nail in coffin when the inner aluminium tank sprung leaks despite rinsing it out with vinegar & water and so much calcium pebbles came out . Since soon the SHTF, I ordered a Truma combi 6d. 👍

Hello There ! Thanks for the great video, Im about to install the same product in my van , and im glad some one spends time to explain other people how it works ! I have some questions , if you could help to answer. First one : Im struggling to find information about the diesel fitting to the tank , as far i got , should be the same like webastos and other diesel heaters ( i gess) i need to take the tank out and fit a hose on it. Do you know any thing about this subject? Second one : Im in a brainstorm to buy a water pump, as far i know the truma heater works with a pressure max of 2.8 bar, if i have a pump more powerfull on bar , do i need to put a pressure reducer valve before truma ? Thank you for your time, and cant wait to see part two , All the best Alex

Hi Alex, thanks for stopping by and watching the video. With fitting the fuel line yes you are correct about fitting a hose to it. I will have to remove my fuel tank and drill a hole to fit a fuel tank sender pipe. The other alternative is instead of tapping into your fuel tank you have a second smaller diesel tank. This way you don’t have to remove your main tank. HughTube has a installation video on his channel where he fits his hose to his tank. Check it out. With the second question you may have to look at the roof installation manual regarding maximum fuel after pressure. If you can’t find anything I would contact Truma directly otherwise ask an RV to installer who has fitted Truma systems in the past.

Hey ! Great video, waiting for the part 2, I'll be installing this on my build next year as well! Quick question though, will you need to install a pump on the hot water side, between the unit and the sink/shower?
@_letescapetogether_
2 жыл бұрын
So I think how it works is every time you turn a tap on the water pump will start. The water pump is located between the water tank amd the Truma unit. Water is heated inside the Truma so when you turn the hot water on either the shower or sink the water pump will initiate which will pump more water into the Truma and the hot water from the Truma will also be pumped through

hi Max! I have a question for which Im hoping you have an answer. I've bought a combi 6 and I'm building it into my van. Now the circulation air (for the fans) needs to come from the living space. Instead of making a hole in the wall next to the ventilator of the combi 6 (150cm2 as advised in the manual), I would like to supply the ventilation of air via an airpipe of +- 2meters long and +- 14cm diameter (which equals the advised 150cm2). The airpipe ends up in another room where it would take air in. I want to do this to reduce a part of the noise of the fans in the space next to where the combi 6 is built in. The question is: do you think the fans will be strong enough to draw air through the pipe? I'm worried that the fans will not get enough air or need to work to hard and crash. What do you think about it? Hope to hear you soon!
