Very good job! I see you cut some grooves in the outside of the pillars. Now you know they'll never go anywhere. I like following along in your figuring for the pillar and screw lenght. I've done this many times over the years in my Gunsmithing shop and I think this is the first time I've ever seen it on video. Im sure you cant wait to get it done and take it out to the range! Thanks for sharing! Rat

Nicely done and presented. This video gives several options and will help many that haven't done this before. I have to agree with the 2nd pillar. One pillar may be just fine but if you're spending the time to do the job it's best do both instead of just one.

I'm scared of laminate stocks. Putting torque on end grain causes stuff to split fairly easy. At least in my experience. I'm always running into problems when building cabinets using CDX plywood. But it looks like you've taking most things into consideration!❤❤❤

Yup Pillars divert much of this into metal where its better handled. 👍🏼❤️🩹🙏

Pillars are great, but the bedding is sometimes even more important. At least you are doing something, and not just leaving it as is, which most times is not good. The proof in how well you did, is how it shoots in the end. How it doesn't shift POI, when you remove the action from the stock, and when you put it back in. You'll also know everything is right, when you don't have to rely on a certain torque setting, to get your best accuracy. When done right, you just tighten your action screws, and your POI is the same, and accuracy/precision is where it needs to be. I've been following your videos on this rifle, and I wouldn't have put a pillar in the front action screw area. That was inletted very well, and tight. It's all in how you look at things mechanically. That area was already mechanically sound. I'll be looking forward to seeing how your rifle shoots, when you are done.. As they say, the "proof is in the pudding".. To me, that means how it shoots when you are done..
