In an earlier video, I installed an O-scale Woodland Scenics Barbed Wire Fence around the farmstead and pasture. In this video, I'm installing an O-scale Woodland Scenics Rail Fence in front of the cabin and barn. The rail fence adds interest and realism to the farm scene on my Lionel Polar Express Model Railroad Layout. One of the rail fence sections that I'm installing includes a wide gate for vehicles to enter and exit the driveway between the barn and the rustic cabin.
In a future video, I'll add snow and icicles to the fence and farmstead for even more realism.
Recently I added a Norfolk Southern Diesel Locomotive, four rotary dump gondola cars, and Norfolk Southern smoking caboose to my layout. In the operating session following installation of the rail fence, I maneuver my new Norfolk Southern train from the elevated track (Track Number 3) down the grade and onto Track Number 2 and then through the switches and over onto Track Number 1. With the Polar Express Passenger Train parked on Track 2 on the South end of the layout, and the Polar Express Freight Train parked on Track 1 on the North end of the layout, the Norfolk Southern train can circle the entire layout by switching between Track 1 and 2.
Unfortunately, there is no way to turn around on the lower level. So, after circling the entire layout, it is necessary to put the train in reverse and ascend the grade by backing up.
