i did a regear, tune, before even putting any sort of armor on my tacoma cause I was smart. Even then, I refused to go offroading until I got the armor on too so there was no chance to damage anything. I got a victory 4x4 blitz hybrid bumper for now, RCI full front skids, lower control arm skids, gas tank skid, rear shock skids, rear diff skids, and rock sliders. First day I took my taco to a offroad park, my skids were hit a few times which I'm glad I had them on.... 2 inch lift, Billstien 5100s front and back, OME 886 coils for all that weight up front, Icon RXT leafs in the back. I built mine as a weekender build that's a daily as well. I don't overland or camp. So I didn't go too extreme for obvious reasons. Even so, it took me 2 years to build it.

question about your C4 bumper. What powder coat product did you use? and did you do a zinc primer below the black powder coat? Mahalo for Maui

So you are doing rear diff and LCA skids before engine, trans, x-case skid plates? The weak portion on the Tacoma diff is the tin metal used for the pumpking rear cover. Another thing, is known that some carriage bolts hit the boot at full droop(the one closed by the outer boot obviously). Keep up the good work! Cheers!

Do you not put blocks behind your tires while it’s on ramps?

Never understood skid plates on a piece that's pretty much solid steel anyway.
