I love this setup and considering the exact same. Thank you for the video. Do you find gear in the bed, hard to get to without being able to open the diamondback? Thanks my only concern.

Hi Andrew. Glad you liked the video. Yes, the biggest challenge is retrieving gear in the front of the bed. I had planned to install a Bed Slide that would slide out 75% but with an added weight of about 200Lbs. I still want to do this but must first upgrade my leaf springs to carry the added weight. With my RTT and all my gear, my truck already has a little squat to it. I also carry an ARB refrigerator in the bed (when on trips) and the slide would work well with it as well.

@@WeekendOverland That's one sweet rig! Thank you so much for the help. Considering the Diamonback or the RetraxPro. I like the idea of being able to roll back the Retrax when at camp but need to confirm that.

Great Video. Did I miss it, did you just get rid of the water pressure container?

Thanks, I still have the Waterport and will be either mounting it off the hitch (it came with a hitch mount) when needed on a trip, or strap it in on top of the DB cover. I am also looking into the 8 gal Waterport Weekender and may mount it to the DB cover under the roof top tent..

Just FYI, you installed the mounting bracket upside down.

Hi DDR. Thanks for watching. The bracket is symmetrical with the exception of the logo. But you are correct, the logo is upside down but the bracket functions just fine. Thanks for you comment.

Great videos! What lighting setup do you have under the Diamondback?
@WeekendOverland

Hi Mark. Thanks for watching. The truck cam with some lighting in the bed but I added an inexpensive LED light strip powered by a small rechargeable power bank. I plan to run power to the back of the bed for my fridge and will probably then power a new light set up.

@@WeekendOverland that will be a video I’ll be looking for. I have an F150 XLT with no lights in the back. I’ll throw a Diamondback cover on it and am looking for ways to light it up. Thanks for the reply.

at 6:20 couldn't you have just removed the tie down portion instead of the whole mount? so if you needed to tie something down all you would have to do is remove the gas can and put the tie down back in.

Hi Adam. Thanks for watching and your comment. The answer is Yes. I actually did just that soon after I published the video. Good catch! Thanks again.

What type of bed racks are those?

Hi Jeff. The inside panels are made by Builtright Industries and the Bed Racks on the the Diamond Back Bed Cover are made by Front Runner. I have other videos that discuss these in more detail. Thanks for watching!

I don't think it's safe to carry gas in an enclosed space like that my friend.
