Thanks for the video. While we could definitely use some tighter camera angles, this is currently the best walkthrough available. My best advice to those attempting this is to take a lot of photos of the stock Z before you begin and do your best to remember how you disassemble it. From that you can reverse engineer a lot of the HDZ install.

While this video is kinda useful, I can't see anything that's going on behind. I got stuck with the drag chain placement for 1.5 hours until I found a picture on the forum. Now I'm stuck with limit switches and can't find any pictures of where they actually go.

Fantastic, thank you. I've got my name on the list to buy it when it becomes available again. Only question is - can I get a blue one?

Do you know where I can purchase replacement eccentric spacers to tram the spindle? I’ve contacted carbide 3d support but they keep trying to sell me threaded eccentric nuts.

Thanks for showing us how easy it is to install the HDZ. What kind of belts are those? Are they better than the standard belts?

No problem, we're trying to make it as easy as possible for those who want to do the upgrade. Those belts are steel core, just putting them through the paces at this stage. We will have more info on those later on.

So how do I know which one is x and z to plug the motors into?

Just bought the HDZ and this was helpful for the install. My coupler to the z-motor appears to be larger ID than the shaft OD on my z-axis stepper motor. Is there a different coupler available?

Can you confirm its dimensions? One side should be 8mm hole the other 6.35

Beaver CNC each end of the coupler is the same ID

@@SolveFixBuild Thats not right, sounds like the wrong size one snuck into the box. Email support@carbide3d.com and we will sort you out.

Beaver CNC okay it’s in the inbox. Excited to get this thing working, I’ve got a half done steel part I want to finish! 😊

Still struggling through this, finally got homing switches installed and figured out the GRBL 1.1 flash. Key info: there is a button to hold on the board rather than the Z limit switch. Now when I try to home the HDZ is going the wrong direction, working on that fix.
