I bought the 1” brackets for my tent that I just got in from Prinsu. Made everything so much easier!

** EDIT: The shavings found inside were not metal; they were thin plastic or nylon. They just looked metallic in the sun **

Hey just a little advise. Remove your two cross bars , Install the mounting hardware to the tent on the ground and then get your tent up there. All you need to do then is place the screws in and you’re done

Thanks, but that wouldn't work with the roller setup. With that said, I now have a hoist system, and that's what I do now...video coming soon... :)

@@streams76which kind? The kind for truck tops?
@streams76

@@azrahostetler571 It’s marketed towards jeep hard tops, but it’s universal, for anything that you can wrap straps around, it will work.

The tent comes on a pallet with braces that hold it upright. After unboxing everything, I laid it down on a dolly to open and make sure everything was in order. I then tilted it back up on the pallet and tied it on using ratchet straps. Here’s where the cheating started… I used my tractor with pallet forks to lift it up to the top of my truck rack, got in the bed of the truck and removed the straps, then laid it down. Couldn’t have been easier!

I saw those, but I wanted the tent as close to the roof as possible, avoiding as much wind drag as possible.

Nice video. That's a good idea for solo fitment, apart from the hard to reach mounting brackets. Do you have a ballpark figure for the weight of your tent? And do you have any ideas on solo removal/dismount (without a hoist)? I'm having some corrosion issues with my roof rack, but now I have to dismount my tent before I can get the roof rack treated.

It weighs about 180 lbs. Since this video, I now store it in the barn with a harken hoist. If you have to take it off solo, depending on the vehicle, you can probably just slide it off the rear onto the ground, with a moving blanket or something to protect the car during the process. I'd recommend inviting a friend over to help.

You should have left the rest of the crossbars in to distribute the weight around and use the outer most crossbars to tighten the tent to
