Keep your tramming screws on each end loose, move the gantry to each side and tighten the tramming screws down, in doing this you maintain your tram.

2 obvious issues with this video.. 1- the audio is super low. 2- a lot of the video is backlit, so it's hard to see the black parts in the front, since there's light lighting the background. both of these shouldn't be too hard to fix.

One issue that I had when sliding the stiffy bar through the bearing and to the left foot is that it didn't line up and I had to push it about a 1/4 inch or more to fit it in the foot. I'm afraid that is going to create a tension and undue strain on the x motor. Is this a valid concern or is there a way to relieve the tension? Thanks

is that one bolt on the foot enough to hold it securely? I am sure it is just thought it it might be an issue.

does the stffy give the new taller HD Z slider two more points of attachment rather that just the two?

No,

Yes, I was wishing it did. To me, the 4 screws holding the z axis seem to have a good chance of stripping out with all the weight of the z20. Plus, it seems like there should be a better way to tram side to side other than loosening and retightening these screws.

No real need for this but I do WISH my Z was more rigid! The 2" tall spindle mount isn't nearly tall enough. The rest of the rig is rigid! It's always the Z that is left in the cold. The holder for the spindle needs to be a min of 4" tall for this beast of a machine. Might just buy another and add it in.

Are you talking about the original\older Z axis or the new 20mm 'Beefy Z'?

How come the elite foreman, your flag ship CNC doesnt come with a sitffy? Why do have to pay an extra 200 dollars for it as an option?
@OnefinityCNC

Because not everyone needs it, so we don't force customers to spend money on something they don't want/need.

@@OnefinityCNC I understand the logic. But when someone is buying your most expenisve machine, you know they will most likely be upgrading to the larger spindle. if you keep it as an option, at least maybe discount the stiffy a little when buying the elite foreman. As a little thank you to the cutomer for buying your best machine. Or add an option to apply the discount to buying other acessories from you.

@@velocityacoustics When you purchase it with the machine you get a discount. However, for the holidays it's on sale when purchases on it's own. Maybe that's why it doesn't seem to be discounted when purchased with the machine at the moment. Hope this makes sense.

Why do we need the stiffy? The 50's are plenty strong already!

I think it's more for people who might be adding an 80mm spindle as they can be 3 times the weight of a Makita router, so it just adds extra rigidity. It also allows you to maybe push the machine harder for 3D carves when in conjunction with the new 20mm Z Slider. You don't 'need' it. It's completely optional and dependent on what you do.

When I'm milling aluminum parts sometimes the spindle gets this weird rotational vibration where is rotates around the the X axis. I think/hoping the stiffy would fix this, going to install mine in the next few days.
