I have been fascinated with hypnosis since I was a kid. I saw an entertaining hypnosis at the fair and wondered what was possible on a more human level. I asked my dad questions he couldnt answer lol. How I wish I could learn hypnosis techniques

Any of this hypnosis work is predicated on establishing a good rapport (and trust)between the therapist and subject/client. And the specfic induction method is related to the "startle reflex" for those of you who are students of neurology. Furthermore, I suggest you investigate the methods of Dr. Milton Erickson, who used indirect, subtle methods, but did sometimes include a shock or surprise component, related to this, in a session.

There are a number of instant inductions, some standing , some seated. I often use a hand-drop induction with my clients and I teach this on my courses.

Hi, I'm very interested in this. However, I do not understand how this works? How can she just collapse like that? Is there a reason why this is happening? Thank You.

Prior to this was the interview she carried out (you can see this elsewhere o n KZitem). BUT she did tell me she was a good hypnotic subject.

what you dont see is the 5 mins before this footage, He puts the thought In her mind that when he says the word "sleep" your eyes will close, he repeats this 3-5 times, so when he does say sleep the sub conscious is teeling her to close her eyes, thats why alot of people fail the "instant induction" but thats how its done, these are very basic ways of hypnosis

Is it possible to hypnotize anyone I know it's possbile to use suggestions and NLP but lets say a criminal tries to hypnotize his captor. In your opinion Brian, is that possible? If so the person would be almost impossible to jail would they not?

I do this kind of induction when I can find people that want to be hypnotized, but I like to do the eye catalepsy without trance.

when she is in that trance state or asleep or whatever it is is she like aware of what he is saying, like when she wakes up does she remeber it. What is it like to be in trance because I try and use ultra hypnosis but I'm never sure if I'm even in a trance

I only use this induction for demonstration puposes as it makes a great impression on the audience. When I demonstrate it in class I first do suggestibility tests to see which students will respond the best. However Karin, in the video, had already told me she was a good hypnotic subject. If you want to learn these techniques as part of a full recognised hypnotherapy qualification in the UK then please get in touch

No matter what disclaimer you put, I think this does more to dissuade people from going to a hypnotherapist. It's bad enough getting them to feel comfortable about being hypnotized without them seeing this 'showy' stuff. I also think that no matter how experienced you are at rapid inductions, you could easily drop them (like you very nearly did) or damage their neck etc. Showing a good Elman induction would be more impressive, let the cocky hypnos risk their stage careers.

Nicole the only thing I seen that he should have done better was tell her BEFORE the induction that she can stand FIRM and safe with her legs nice and firm beneath her..other than that he did ok. Not sure why you think it was bad.

what would be funny to see is that after all that he said sleep after she woke up and laughed... but on a more serious note, i am going to be completing a course in 3 days with a person called Paul Davis who is in Australia and i will be doing this in Melbourne... has anyone heard of Paul Davis at all and can you provide some information about him?

I've deleted some comments I found offensive. The fact is that this induction does work, and I demonstrate it with different people at each and every one of my training courses. (search for Hypnotic Solutions Training London) It helps if the subject is suggestible, has a good imagination and will follow suggestions uncritically. For therapy I prefer the Elman Induction - see my video "Julie and the Onion" on KZitem

i guess in this video the technique did not work perfectly because at 0:35, the woman clearly uses the hypnotherapist as a support to get back on her feet ( notice her left hand ) which i guess should not have happened considering that she was unconcious.

@LovelyHoneyhoe, I personally know hundreds of inductions. I only use a few though. That's really all most hypnotists need. I usually teach about 8 or so to my students and then tell them to figure out 2 or 3 that will be their favorites from those...
