Easy Instant Pot baby back ribs. Enjoy BBQ fall off the bone baby back ribs in less that 30 minutes in the Instant Pot. Nothing could be easier.
Shopping List:
Baby Back Pork Ribs
1 rack baby back pork ribs membrane removed
Rub:
Yellow mustard (as much as needed for a thin coat on both sides of ribs)
Kosher salt
Famous Dave's Rib Rub
Rib Pot Liquids:
4 cups apple juice
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1/8 cup liquid smoke (optional)
Sauce:
1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Using the tip of a knife, pry up a corner of the membrane then use paper towels to grip and pull it off. Discard membrane.
Apply a light coat of yellow mustard to both sides of the ribs.
Generously rub the Famous Dave's Rib Rub on the front, back and sides of the ribs. Let set about 10 minutes.
Pour Rib Pot ingredients (liquids) in the pot and then place the trivet in the pot, if using.
Place the ribs inside the pot, standing on their side , wrapping around the inside of the pot, bone side toward the center of the pot.
Using the display panel, make sure the pressure switch is set to "seal" then select the PRESSURE COOK OR MANUAL function. Use the +/- keys and program the Instant Pot for 25 minutes for super fall-off-the bone, 20 for in between and 15 for more chewy ribs. Ribs are best when cooked to an internal temperature between 190-200, although they are safe to eat at 170.
The Instant Pot will automatically start to pre-heat. This can take up to 15 minutes depending on how much liquid you've added to the pot. Once preheated, it will automatically switch to the cook time you selected and the clock will start to count down.
When the time is up, let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick-release the remaining pressure by selecting the "vent" switch. Then you can safely remove the lid.
Carefully remove the ribs from the pressure cooker with two sets of tongs and set on a foil lined baking sheet on a rack. Take care removing them to hold them together. An easier removal method is to cook the ribs on the trivet.
Brush with BBQ sauce and set on the middle rack under the oven broiler until sauce begins to caramelize, about 5 minutes, and rib tops are lightly charred. BE SURE TO KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THEM. BROILING TIME MAY VARY!
Let rest for 5-10 minutes then slice and enjoy.
