works great. i love that it has stainless steal pot inside kzitem.infoUgkxG-7WiT7ocumjytOpHDFt632PL0pxXRAg and not the one with coating. we used to have a coated pot before, and the coating slowly peels, and i am sure went into the food that we cooked. Absolutely love stainless steel, and will not use a coated product again. This pot has many settings and many buttons, and i need to sit down with a manual to figure out which setting to use. I used the basic functions, and even though i am not technologically skilled, i turned it on and assembled it without any help.Very satisfied with this product overall.

@4:28 he added the dry beans without washing them... That's how I did it for four decades. And then I tried washing(rinsing) them in a clear glass bowl. Just run water on them and agitate, dump the dirty water and repeat until the water stops being dirty. And yeah, sometimes the water looks like you just washed your dog in it. I always wondered why sometimes my beans tasted "earthy". RINSE YOUR BEANS!!

I am nearly 81 years old, and I have never soaked my beans. Neither did my mother. It’s just never been necessary. I will be putting chunks of ham in my bean soup. That will add a lot of flavor. No course there will be onion and I do have garlic. I also use better than bullion as a base for all of my broth. That stuff is amazing. I like the idea of using my immersion blender to thicken the soup. Good idea.

This is a decent recipe & somewhat similar to mine, but i'm 57 yr., old irishman from rural Ky where soup beans are a staple meal here & i've been cooking since i was 9. I prefer the great northern beans or pintos, but no matter what, i soak them covered in water overnight. Instead of some of your ingredients, i use a smoked hamhock, Lawry's garlic salt( Lawry's brand only) , & bacon grease/ lard in place of butter/ olive oil. I also make a mix of seasoned turnip/ mustard greens for a side item & real yellow corn meal cornbread, spread on real butter not sweet or that jiffy junk, & a bunch of green onions ( also, i like a cold glass of buttermilk, but most non-country folks won't like that) . Biggest tip of all i learned many yrs. ago, if beans cause you stomach bloating/discomfort, flatuent problems, or problems in the bathroom the morning after, i'd do this anyway no matter what, for the amount of beans you made in the instapot, appx., 12-16 ounce bag, add 1 level tbls., of sugar in the pot at the start & will cause a chemical reaction with the beans, no sweet taste in the beans, but will rectify all the unpleasing issues i mentioned. God Bless you all.

Love Jeff and his IP recipes! Big fan! Helpful tip: When cooking dried beans - of any kind - in an IP . . . Always 'Prepare' dried beans for safely cooking in an IP! Consuming under-cooked dried beans cooked in an IP / slow cooker can be dangerous if beans are not prepared properly for this type of cooking. How to avoid toxic tragedy: Throughly, throughly rinse beans, then soak beans OVER NIGHT; next morning, drain and rinse, rinse, rinse soaked beans in clean, cold water (multiple times); next, in fresh water boil beans in a separate pot, on the stove top, for 10 minutes then drain before following any IP dried-bean recipes. Your prepared beans should now be safe for preparing any 'dried-bean' IP recipes for drama-free consumption. (Sorry, yes, extra steps - necessary.)

I’m from WV, so we are very familiar with beans. The only thing missing is the cornbread.

Just had to say “THANK YOU” for the fantastic idea of different variety broth. I like broth, grew up on it homemade actually (bone broth from mom and granny, YUMMERS 🤤), but pull away from many store brands due to the high concentration of salt, scary preservatives, and ingredients I can’t pronounce 😩 But with this fabulous idea, broth can be made on my own terms! Where I live, Better Than Bouillon is about $5.50 a jar. With your recipe, so much quality broth can be made. Thanks sooooo much, I am appreciative!!!!👍🏽🎉🙌🏽
